Went to Senior Bowl practice this past Thursday with my 12 year old son and in fact stayed at same hotel as both teams, coaches, etc. Both my son and I had on our Alabama shirts while there. When South team buses arrived at hotel, was out front and got several pictures made of players and my son. My son was also getting autographs too. Tebow was the first player's picture we got and he was quite nice. We next spotted Cody getting off bus and we were standing right next to him. I asked him did he mind if I got a picture of him and my son and my son was asking him for an autograph too. We might as well been speaking in Chinese or apparently he's gone deaf and his eyesight is going as well. Not only did he not look at us, there was no reponse at all. He stuck his nose in the air and shuffled on by us. There were several other people dressed in Alabama clothing and they too were ignored by him. I was really surprised by the way he acted and he must have forgotten where he came from. As a booster I helped pay for his tuition. Really sad to see him act that way, especially to a child. All the other Bama players were very very nice and polite. All the other players of both squads were cordial as well. No other player acted like Cody. Unreal.

This sounds completely true and accurate and was most definitely not posted by a rival imposter.

Players have bad days like we do. I remember someone posting a similar story about Ken Darby, when they me him in St. Louis, while he was playing for the Rams. Both guys, Cody and Darby, are two of the nicest people I've came across, at least in a fan-player interaction. I'm guessing it was just one of those days.

There's a story on the FB board about TC's signing at the mall here in HSV. Near the end, the store owner, in charge of logistics, nixed the taking of a photo with the poster's two daughters. Later, when they were leaving the mall, Cody caught up with them and posed for the picture then. Doesn't sound like the same person does it?

My son and I went to the N. Texas game and were hoping to get a few autographs. There was a sign at the player exit that said "NO AUTOGRAPHS". Several players were very nice and took time with the fans. TC was not one of them. No, he was not obligated to and probably didn't feel like bothering.

I realize that the players probably get tired of the fans and all the hounding. But, we were very disappointed in several players.

I hate to hear that, but with those two blocked kicks against the Viles I would still like the guy if he would have punched the 12 year old. (kidding)

Does anybody know where you can watch the senior bowl online?***nevermind found from another post

Even if this is true, and it probably isn't, it doens't mean he forgot where he came from. You don't know what may be going on with athletes/celebrities at any given moment.

He could've just gotten some bad news, or not felt very well or anything. Your life will go on without that picture

You sure he wasn't listening to his ipod at the time. The earbuds can get lost in his long hair and maybe you didn't notice it.

I haven't asked Cody for a autograph, nor have I been close enough to ask for one. In truth I'm not the type to ask for autographs, if you want to actually hang out with celebrities the last thing you should do is act in awe. Generally they behave like normal people. From my experience they welcome regular conversation. I can certainly imagine they have moments in which fans fawning over them is irritating.

Having said that, Cody has a lot of exuberance. My experiences of seeing him in person showed a lot of love for the fans and love for the game. His enthusiasm was unmistakable. I do not imagine him behaving this way unless he was ill.

I agree with the poster above who mentioned the iPod. Cody nearly ALWAYS has his on and his earbuds in. As a matter of fact, I've never seen him get off a bus without them in. If that's the case, he didn't hear you.

He does not have a reputation for being stuck-up, in the least.

Also, just as an aside, please remember we as fans do not own these players and they do not owe us anything.

Some people have the idea that if they put on a Bama shirt the players should flock to them like flies to sugar.

Staci, didn't he play JC ball in your area? Thank you for adding your insight on this subject. I found the post from the thread starter hard to believe.

what part of "NO AUTOGRAPHS" did you not get???

autograph seekers can be a rude, and at times creepy lot. i'm all for kids wanting to get autographs but parents should know when to cross the line and teach their children that they shouldn't feel ENTITLED to always get an autograph. if they miss getting their favorite players autograph, then tough luck. you can get it next time. but to try and say you're "disappointed" in several of our players just proves my point on the subject. take a step back and think about this for a minute. think about how much our players already to do to give back to the fans.
