Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in
Back to Cyrus, has anyone confirmed the presser at 1100?

I honestly do BELIEVE that Brent wanted to come to Auburn and was forced back to Bama. I may be wrong, like I said it is JMO.
Thank you for getting this thread back on track, all I want to know is when will he make a real decision and what is that decision.Back to Cyrus, has anyone confirmed the presser at 1100?

However, the recruiting situation I have a different opinion. I think Auburn had always been a little "lax" in their recruiting passion. I think Trooper and Luper bring an energy to the team that we had not had in a LONG time. I also think a kid's decision on where he wants to attend school should be his own, not his parents or guardians. I know many of you do not feel that way, it is just my opinion for what it is worth. I honestly do BELIEVE that Brent wanted to come to Auburn and was forced back to Bama. I may be wrong, like I said it is JMO.
I actually do not like Walt Williams so you are preaching to the choir there. I also absolutely LOATHED Bobby Lowder and was sure he would be the ruination of Auburn University. Like I said, I am not stupid, nor gullible. When Colonial went down, I actually laughed. Believe it or not, there are many "good" Auburn folks who always hated him.

No decision before Friday, per his father.
Can I ask you why?
How does someone who's a lifelong Alabama fan even consider AU? Or even vice verse. How does a lifelong AU fan consider Alabama?
There's no way my son would EVER attend AU, even if it were the only offer he had. I'm sure 99% of Alabama fans feel that way as I'm sure 99% of AU fans feel that way.
How do you get a lifelong fan to switch? It just doesn't make sense and it happens every year. I get a lifelong fan going to some other school. If Calloway had gone to LSU or Oklahoma or Miami it wouldn't have baffled me. But how does a lifelong Bama fan who was born and raised in this state have any desire to play for a team who grew up hating? That point alone will always confuse me, yet we see it every year.
As the Mods on here will tell you, it isn't so much as what you say but how you say it. I have been on this site for a very long time and the reason I like this site is that it steers away from childish smack talk. With the growth of this site, especially recently with many new members, the tone has changed a little but I am confident that the mads here will reign that in. We do enjoy many posters that are fans of many differnet schools.

The rumor that cyrus will be announcing today at 1100 is well, just a rumor. Although we want this to be over with ASAP because we don't want it to turn into a circus, we still don't wanna rush into making a decision. I think i lost weight these past 24 hours and i'm not cyrus... just imagine how he feels right now...
I have no issue with a recruit picking the school they want but the difference is that Auburn seems to purposely avoid the parents in the process. What are they telling these kids they do not want the parents to hear. Sorry CNS involves the parents the whole way through the process. Even the players we do not get you do not hear a parent express concern over our staff. When you recruit a 16 and 17 year old you have to deal with the family but Auburn does not. Maybe you are not a parent but even with a 17 year old would you not be a little concerned about grown men coming around your child and taking them across states lines, we will not even talk about the laws being broke there regarding a minor being transported across statelines without permission, or talking them into a basic contract of a decision that will affect the rest of their lives. Sorry I guess my view of what I am suppose to do as a parent is different. I would want my children to decide but again my children and it is my job to help them understand their decision, help them see all the positives and negatives and then support that decision they make. The problem is Auburn is not allowing the parents in the process.
Here's the timeline according to his father. Now Iowa is back in it. I really don't know what to make of it all.
