Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

For those who still think there is nothing suspicious about Coach McGregor, see here: Coach McGregor Sports.com - Home | Prince Georges County, Maryland
Coach is well-known for his unrivaled ability to get young men into college so that they can continue to play the sport they love. Under his expert guidance, since 1991 over 320 young men have received either Division 1A or Division 1AA full football scholarships!
Sounds very similar to Gus's boy Walt Williams.

Not following, Belle. So he has a football camp?

The guy has been at the same school for 28 years and produces a ton of Division I talent. It's glib to say he's on the take. But w're basing that on what: that he hasn't agreed to drive Cyrus to Tuscaloosa?
I'm basing it on the fact that the only school that the high school coach seems interested in is AU, and that the coach by his own admission is the one who wanted to set up a call with the AU coaches. I mean I'm not ready to pillory the guy or anything. It just seems a little suspect to me that he's pushing AU.

Did you look at this website? It sounds just like Walt boy from Arkansas.

We are going to lose this kid, I am 90% confident he is gone from the way his coach is talking. Congrats Auburn, go around the parents and deal with his coach - "Auburn asked me to set up the conference call" (paraphrase from McGregor)
I agree with this. But Luginbill just said on Finebuam Cyrus will be going to Alabama lol.

There is more to it than a football camp. I am not necessarily saying he is on the take, but some of the things on the website are odd--as in why does HE need the website and the blog and NOT the school? A lot of self promotion. I am not the only person with these thoughts, though. There is another thread about this in the football section.

Yeah, heard that too. Luginbill was apparently the only one to call Cyrus to AU. He must have had an AU source for that. I wonder what source he's using for this prediction.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Here it is and it doesn't sound good to me. Cyrus needs to go home and get with his family. It's one thing if they guide and steer him. It's quite another if his coach does. Now it appears Cyrus hasn't even talked to Alabama coaches. Wonder why Saban's name is nowhere to be found in all these reports?

Cyrus inching closer - Yahoo! Canada Sports
TidenGa, in a article that someone has already posted, it said Cyrus had talked to Cheeznip and Coach Saban today. I've got my fingers crossed that the good guys win out on this kid. Seems like a good kid that got his mind screwed up with the fambily talking points. God is calling you to come to Awbum. Saban is really Satan. Your Momma and Daddy don't really understand what we have down here for you in leee conty, oh and keep that thought to yourself around them. Did we already mention we are fambily.
Did we mention already that you will not be in God's will if you don't keep it down home with us cuz.... Also if we were playing a game tommorow, why you would be in the starting lineup... Alabama, they so stacked, you wouldn't play for at least three years with all that talent... NCAA investigation, heck no, the NCAA just comes around to marvel at what a clean program we run down here. Did we mention already that Saban is the devil..

All depends on who CK decides to listen to, his parents or his coach, it's going to boil downs to who he listens to in the end, period!

Re: Cyrus, St Nick Fairly, Coach McGregor, and Brian Overstreet

This is no surprise. There are a lot more "coach McGregor and Mr. Overstreets" out there. That Tiger Unlimited Money Funneling Machine has deep pockets and is far reaching. We can connect the dots from Lousiana through to Maryland, and all point between.

Maybe he felt something shady would go down this past weekend, and he know realizes mom and dad will talk him through things one more time.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Couple of things I'd like to know. Does aubarn not have any viable competition returning to fight for the tackle spots? Are they all chop liver? Is he guaranteed to start next year at aubarn?

No clue here but doesn't an architect degree take more than 3 years to get? I would imagine that's lots of work in classes that all stack upon each other. Lots of prerequisites I mean. Why does that course study mean so much if you are banking on a 3 year plan to the NFL. And why is he getting so far ahead of himself? Does he have his life planned for when he leaves the NFL yet? I jest but by following the train of logic CK has going here it's easy to see why he's confused.

Cyrus........bro......take a deep breath. You don't have to figure it all out now. Go to Bama. Heck aubarn might not even help you get a genuine degree. And that statement may not be so far off in the near future. Go have fun with Arie. College is the best and you will never be able to buy back these years. Go hang with your brother in apartments instead of these new found friends in trailers. RTR.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

I guess what Im saying is that this is a 18 year old kid who hasn't done anything in college to warrant attention, yet both fan bases are acting like our futures depend on 1 OT. Judging from this drama and how it has unfolded here, I am almost to the point of saying his career will probably be a bust. I wish him the best, but Im done really caring. Regardless of where he goes (including New Mexico), he is going to have to sack up and earn his position on the field. The guys that we have at Bama want to be here and are ready to compete. Same for the guys at AU who have signed. He is in Maryland waffling around, while our current OL signees probably already have the playbook.

Re: Cyrus, St Nick Fairly, Coach McGregor, and Brian Overstreet

I hate to hear about corrupt coaches. I don't know if he is or not, but for McGregor to be around for as long as he has and take a handout to sway a player to a certain school bewilders me. He could ruin his whole reputation. Especially for this to be going on while still being investigated for Scamgate. I guess AU feels pretty good about their control in the NCAA. For Cyrus' sake, I hope this is not going on.

Isn't right now considered a dead period for coaches talking to or about unsigned recruits? If so, that don't seem to be stopping Chizik. Just wondering why Saban is not talking to Cyrus.

I believe I read it earlier that an underage student athlete must have a parent/legal guardian sign his/her scholarship. But what happens if the parent/legal guardian does not sign the scholarship for whatever reason? What happens to the student athlete? (If this has been mentioned, then I apologize for bringing it up again.)

The amount of negative attention this has caused Bama is not worth the hassle IMO. A lot of talk radio personalities (including our beloved FBAUM) are ripping Bama over this thing. Let the kid play where he wants. Either way, you are going to have to end up blocking SEC defensive ends. Not a fun or easy proposition no matter who you play for, it just looks like the guys who are on campus at Bama or are soon to be have their mind in the right place.

Players can call coaches. Coach Sal got a call from Daddy K last night too.
