Re: Cyrus Kouandjio Commitment (all CK discussion goes here)

I don't mind not getting Cyrus, I really don't, I just can't stand it that it might be Auburn who gets him. The reason is because we are going to hear for the forseeible future how Auburn "stole" Cyrus away from Bama, and that Bama "bought" Calloway. It's enough to live among the goobers, but if they get Cyrus they won't stop talking about it.

Plz, Cyrus go to Iowa if you don't want to come to Bama.

Coach: Kouandjio decision will be 'sooner rather than later'

"He talked with Auburn twice," McGregor said. "He talked once around noon and again at 2:20 (p.m. ET). I don't think he has spoken with anyone else. I do know that it sounds like it will be Auburn or Alabama. I wish I knew what was really bothering him, but that's what I know.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio Commitment (all CK discussion goes here)

OK, I understand most people(Me too) in the nation thinks Auburn has been up to some shady things & cheating these days, but I'm not liking some of the things I'm reading in some of these post. This Family seems like a great Family, and just because Auburn does things the shady way doesn't mean it's happening here. If Cyrus doesn't come to Bama, it's not meant to be, but it won't kill Bama football. Don't let your hate for Auburn & knowing something shady is going with Auburn cloud our judgement with this a fine Family here.

Man, with the way recruiting is playing out these days it's losing it's appeal to me........:frown:

I just don't get this coach. He has to have an agenda....

also, I don't get how he's constantly talking to Awburn coaches but no one else.

Makes me wonder if we've determined that this is too much for us to take on...

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Been watching Cyrus' Facebook page for a day-plus now. The Auburn fan's and their "All In" and "We are a family" thing is just bizarre to me. I know, I know, there's idiocy with every fan base, including ours. But this cult-like behavior is just kooky.

I've, for the most part, disagreed with those who wished the Bama-Auburn game was no longer. I'm getting to the point, however, that I really wish they would just go their way and we would go ours, never to see each other again. It's just gotten unhealthy all the way around. They're sick of us and we're sick of them. It's just silly.

It's just not a healthy rivalry, IMO.

Let's not get all upset over one player. We have a great recruiting class regardless what happens with CK. If he is not going to be happy at Bama then it is best for us and him that he not come.

I wonder if Saban is just letting Arie and family handle everything, and getting a read on things that way. That might explain why the Alabama coaches aren't lighting up the phone lines.

Don't think anyone on this thread or otherwise believes the family has anything to do with things... just as you say, they seem to be upstanding and a tight-knit family. It's the other people surrounding him that's causing all the negative talk. And... it would be different if this weren't a consistent tune with AU... but with them, it is becoming a regular pattern to find someone close to kids to reward for helping to sway a kid their way.

I just don't get this coach. He has to have an agenda....

Depending on my first statement in this post, at some time you would have to believe there would be a point that taking any kid the Barn has sold out to get could become quite risky... because I can't believe the current regime there would have any problems with trying to take down as many with them as they possibly could.

I haven't heard anything from M-b lately except for the inaccurate Bone tweet.

How about a Law Degree?

or a Degree in Communication? That really could have helped you yesterday and it can help you in the future when being interviewed.

or A Business Degree? This can help you manage and invest those mega millions you can make as an NFL player.

Bama has all of these and more.

Pretty soon, we might see Saban express some displeasure in the way many journalists approach their jobs.
When he does that will get the folks that think CNS is too mean to the media riled up. Some of our own even get all teary eyed when he lights into one of these morons.

I think that's all Coach Saban and Staff can do since he announced that he was going to the Barn. I think it's best not to put more pressure on him other than letting Arie or someone in the family know that he's still wanted and welcome at Bama.

The Architechture Degree thing does not make sence to me. He would have never considered Alabama OR Iowa if that was his goal and I am pretty sure his family would support that including Arie...

Cyrus can go where he likes, and I'll not say a bad word against him. This Coach McGregor on the other hand needs to be beaten with a rubber hose. Or something else. How close are they to Baltimore? Maybe Omar can find him.

And lastly - everyone who is Facebook friends with a high school get who might come play for your team?

Stop feeding the beast. Seriously.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Guys, w/ regard to the Architecture degree, this is finally something I can speak to w/ a bit of knowledge. I'm a Recruiting Mgr for a construction consulting firm where we employ architects, professional engineers, certified construction mgrs, etc. UA has various 'building' related engineering degrees as well as a construction management degree. If his passion was to be an Architect, you can do that w/ a construction or engineering degree and then take the exam to recieve an AIA (American Institute of Architects) Certification. Furthermore, he could go to grad school anywhere to get his masters in architecture. However, many schools offer a construction mgt masters degrees with a specialization in Architecture. I'd be willing to bet that UA has the same thing for their undergrad construction mgt degree.

Bottom line, if Cyrus wants to be an architect, he can do that at UA. Also, if that were the most important aspect of choosing a college, then there are multiple other schools w/ decent football programs who have outstanding architecture degrees.

Just my 2 cents. Gonna go back into hibernation now until this is all over.

I hate it for anyone if thats their 'thing', but I agree completely. Same goes for twitter. Now, if the player is on Bama's roster or an alum in the league, I'll follow in a heartbeat. But a high school kid, no way.

OK my bad. Nothing would surprise me anymore with how many Adults are trying to benefit off these kids(recruits) today.

Well, off to watch a Horror movie........
