Decline of the GOP - XVII

Would love to ask him why he didn’t stand up next to anyone and defend the USA during Vietnam.

Meh l don’t know.

It’s not like the VC were coming ashore at Oxnard with overwhelming force. I’d be perturbed if he’d actually gotten a draft notice and fled, but Greenwood was a Dad in 1960 long before most Americans knew the way to break up a Saigon bingo game was to call “B-52.”

I don’t blame Greenwood for not going to Vietnam but his boasting how he would defend us rings hollow when he never actually served.

I once had a guy on a message board saying military service should be mandatory. I asked about his military service and he said he never served but he wished he had though it just wasn’t right for him at the time.

Again, I get your point, but Vietnam didn't exactly invade us as far as the verb "defend" goes.

Or maybe it was just another case of "the dollar dictates what is written" as Chuck Berry said.

I'll play "top this" with you.

:)

I'm old enough to remember conservatives saying military service should be compulsory to be President - and since the PRIMARY reason we need a President is as COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF, a strong (non-constitutional) argument could be made for that.

Many of these same people have voted for Private Bone Spurs no less than three times.

No, Vietnam wasn’t threatening to invade us but he was 18 in 1960 and could have served a hitch and been out before it got serious over there. But he was married at 17.

I was never in the military and I’m not blasting anyone who hasn’t. But don’t say you’d gladly serve today when you didn’t when you were that age. But I understand it’s a song and not a personal declaration.

Notre Dame College Republicans:
For the last four decades American manufacturing has been systematically dismantled, millions have lost their jobs and livelihoods, critical supply chains have moved to hostile countries, hardware productivity growth has collapsed, and consumption has been increasingly financed by mortgaging off the future to foreigners.

He who saves his country violates no law. We urge President Trump to defy the Supreme Court's lawless, disgusting ruling today.

If anyone had said back in 2015, "The Republican President will trigger a constitutional crisis (backed by REPUBLICANS) by (checks notes) insisting on KEEPING AN IMPORT TAX," that person would have lost all credibility on any political issue ever.

And yet - here we are.

Remember Vince Offer? Probably not the name but you probably remember the ShamWow infomercials he did a number of years ago.

After his 15 minutes ran out he ran into some legal trouble after he punched a hooker who was trying to bite his tongue off.

Now he is running for Congress, primarying an 84 year-old Republican who has been in office for 20 years and makes Biden look like JFK. Here’s his campaign ad.

But before he put that together, he did one a few months ago he said was inspired by Charlie Kirk’s murder.

I can’t post a link due to TF rules. No bad words but some of the content is a little iffy and I don’t want to take any chances. But just go to YouTube and search for Wokebusters.

the Republican Party has been nothing but a massive grifting operation since the ‘80s

I literally cannot argue otherwise, but to act as if the democratic party hasn't massively enriched it's chosen elect in the same manner is a bit biased.

Both parties are corrupt beyond comprehension at this point. They just attack our pocketbooks from different angles...
