Did T-Town Menswear Cause an NCAA Violation For Alabama? (UA says no)

I'll worry and pray about whatever I want to. Auburn fans are trying to get MY school in trouble and have been doing so for a long time now. I graduated from Alabama and put thousands of dollars into the university. I'll be damned if I'm going to sit back and watch a bunch of nutcases at the cow college try to get our program in trouble.

Re: Clay Travis Says We Are In Potential Trouble

What the heck? Do you mean to tell me that all these years that I've been drinking Orange Jubilee that it isn't considered a drink of high quality. I mean, I really thought it was top drawer.
Back in college, I came home from class one day and walked to my bedroom. As I passed my roommate's bedroom, I saw his feet sticking up from between the wall and his bed (there was about 2 feet of space in between). Thinking that he might be hurt, I ran in there to check on him.

There he was, shirtless with his torso protruding from under the bed with his legs sticking almost straight up against the wall. A small and feminine-in-appearance Birkenstock lay near his hip and his toenails had been painted black. About six or seven torn bar wristbands lay near the end of the bed and there was a Yacht Trader :conf3: magazine laying on the bed with a bookmark in it. I could hear the most violent snoring and then I saw them in the garbage can...

four or five empty bottles of MD20/20.

despite having his questions answered by the University he keeps up the hopes of aubie to keep his hits up. His NEW angle is this guy has championship rings...clay apparantly not aware that all you need to get those rings is about 500 dollars and the number of the jeweler who designed them. Since he is bound and determined to make his name off the story I suggest no one follow or post links to the site. If you'd like to talk about it fine but in three stories the site has done he's made up accusations from a dead issue and interviewed a guy in montgomery and informed us that auburn was still under investigation (good thing he let everybody know that).

He's even defending the story as "well people are reading it so I must be right". Didnt listen to Finebuam but it sounds like Paul ripped him for clearly making a story to placate to the needs of auburn fans.

Paul didn't really share his opinion with Clay. But afterwards when talking to callers Paul seemed to think this "story" would not likely go far....if anywhere at all.

It's not so much to placate Auburn fans... it's a need to generate huge traffic during his website's debut week.

Re: Clay Travis Says We Are In Potential Trouble

Maybe I have been living in a cave, but who is Clay Travis?
Well, I have been in the same cave. Several months ago someone mentioned his name and I believe said he was from Nashville and had a talk show. Based on his name I thought he was a country/western celebrity.

Clay Travis is the moron that asked Tim Tebow if he was a virgin. I think it was at 09 media days.

Agree. I refuse to even type the name of his site, much less give him any traffic.
I agree, I added this guy and his site to my irritant list. I will not be clicking on anything he writes unless it is by accident. lol

Alabama Crimson Tide eyes store over possible infractions - ESPN
Alabama looked into the relationship between T-Town, the store, and players such as star running back Trent Richardson and concluded that the players did not receive benefits such as merchandise or discounts, a source said.

Student-athletes can't be featured in any commercial advertising. The school also looked into autographs seen at the shop.

The Alabama compliance office is monitoring the situation. The NCAA and SEC have not been engaged, the source said, because there is not believed to be an eligibility issue.

Could there be something here, probably not. Since compliance looked into it within 2 months of it happening, there's nothing to worry about. Just like the espn story says, if compliance looked into it and no players received any benefits plus added a cease and desist letter since the guy had the pics on his facebook page, there's nothing wrong. The only possible problem would be if some form of extra benefit actually was extended. Otherwise this just looks like a fan with a clothing store who displays memorabilia in the store... not that uncommon in a college town is it?
