I always followed recruiting a little. The battle for Lorenzo here in Georgia got me following recruiting closely! One of our first big wins on the trail vs the Dawgs Since the nineties. because of that, I always kept an eye on Zo. So sad , my heart goes out to his family!

Me too. I followed recruiting much more closely under Shula. He was a huge get back then.

This is so sad. I pray for his family and friends to find peace in such a terrible situation.

My first post on this board in Dec 2004 was when I met Lorenzo and Brandon Fanney at the Hargrave post graduate combine. Good kid; and we chatted for a while. He and his family made a lot of sacrifices to get to Bama; and ultimately to get his degree. For every all american and first round draft pick, there are many like Lorenzo who worked hard and put in just as much time contribute to the success of the team. My prayers are with his family.

TIL Rowdy Harrell (and his new wife) were killed in a car accident shortly after their wedding back in November. Harrell was a member of the 2008 Bama team (att of his death, was a crew pit member of Hendricks Motorsports). IDK if it had already been mentioned but I just found today. So sad.
