Gay couple asked to reverse shirt at Dollywood

Well, I'll just tell you what several gay friends have told me. It's not about the appearance. It's about the EQUIPMENT. Even if a woman looks "butch", she's got the equipment and the temperament of a woman, and THAT'S what the other woman is mainly attracted to. The same holds true for a man. I'm just passing this along...I don't question it, but to understand gay people, you have to ask them. So I did.

i even lived with 2 lesbians for a yr and neither of them could figure it out.

I believe there are some who are truly born "gay". Then I think there are those who aren't but choose to swing on that side of the fence and could just as easily go the other way. I've seen it before. Two girls I went to HS with were "gay" for years and each one of them today are married to men, have kids and are no longer gay. Go figure that. :conf3:

I think it's just a more exaggerated form of what we heterosexuals experience. I'm heterosexual and I like men who are big in stature. I'm not attracted to short, skinny men AT ALL because in my mind that's sort of feminine. But I have female friends who prefer smaller men over larger men because they find large guys too intimidating or whatever.
Heh, we have much in common. ;)

Lesbians ain't gonna tell a GUY their secrets!

I asked a close friend who I knew would just tell me what she thought. My main question was about the practice of ....how can I put this delicately?....the use of certain items that one person can attach to a belt and wear. My question was, Why? Why do that when you can just be with a man who actually comes equipped with one of those and it's REAL. Her reply was that it's the best of both worlds. The partner has the temperament of a woman (even butch girls are still women) she's softer, not hairy AND she still has "the girls". SO.... she said it's about the emotional connection they have and the feminine equipment and curves, which is what they are really attracted to. That was the best explanation I had ever heard so I'm just taking her at her word.

I reckon most of us women like the contrast - we like that men are hairy and have harder bodies and rough....and jerks. (Just kidding) Some women want something softer. I guess the reverse would be true for men who are gay.

Probably wasn't any more offensive than stuff that gets thru the turnstiles every day at Dollywood. T-shirts with Calvin peeing on a Chevy logo or Ford logo. I'm sure they get the monster trucks coming thru the gates with the truck nuts dangling off the trailer hitch.

What is so offensive about the shirt in the first place? Shouldn't marriage be thought of as a happy occasion? :)

The shirt is not offensive to me. On the one hand, most gay people just want to be left alone to pursue life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I'm happy for them. On the other hand, you have some who wear their sexuality like a badge of honor and dare anyone to react. Why can't gays like these two do their own thing without making a spectacle everywhere they go?

It's sort of like "Let's see how much shock value I can get out of this slogan. If anyone says anything I'll scream discrimination and claim my rights are being violated!"

If CNN picks up on this and interviews this pair, they will have accomplished their goal while the world yawns.

Yes...marriage is a happy occasion. :)

Oh, my!

Private property, so it's Dollywood's right.

True enough, but it was wrong of them to do that...unless they had a policy against ALL political shirts. But it doesn't sound like that is the case.

Dollywood spokesman Pete Owens said on Tuesday that Dollywood is open to all families, but their dress code policy is to ask people with clothing or tattoos that could be considered offensive to change clothes or cover up.

So now they are picking and choosing what is offensive and what is not. Which is a bag of worms that I wouldn't want to deal with if I ran an amusement park.

Well...I was curious and I wanted to know. The only way you can learn is ask.

You could probably find one of those contraptions at your local XXX haberdashery store, but I think Alabama made sex toys illegal some odd years ago.

:)

Wellll......First of all, I don't WANT one of those contraptions. I'm quite content with the real one attached to my man.

Secondly, I know of 3 different stores in close proximity to Florence. One is over in Muscle Shoals in the back of a video store. I used to work at a place where my boss would call the girl who runs that shop and ask her to bring her "wares" over, and all of us girls would giggle and gather in the conference room and check out the latest stuff. So you just have to know where to find it. :)

I heard that if you wear a I heart SF shirt, well let's just say if you are gay, that will be the sign for other gays to know you are. I had a friend go to SF and her brother was gay and he wanted her to bring him back that shirt.
