Second time for him, I guess he nor Kirby learned the first time . Out. Of . Control

Georgia wide receiver Rara Thomas was arrested on Friday morning on one count of cruelty to children, which is a felony, and two counts of battery, both of which are misdemeanors. All of the charges carry a “family violence” tag.

arrested at 3:20 AM this morning, as of 11:30 AM Friday, he is still in jail, no bail as reported by WCNN -Atlanta

Story here

Let's see what the full story is but it appears this guy has anger issues and that this time it was directed towards a child. Charged with a felony count of 2nd degree cruelty to a child. Carries 1-10 years if convicted. I think it might be time for this guy to lose the privilege of playing football at Georgia or anywhere else for a while.

I’m just going to repeat what I wrote earlier…
Kirby’s about football…this will be interesting….

I know Georgia had some problems here and there before, but since they won their first playoff national title with the alcoholic QB, they have fallen off a crime cliff with the vehicular homicide, speeding, drunk driving , guns, and domestic violence. It’s crazy the trend since winning that first title. Which, BTW was only 29 months ago. So much crime in 2 1/2 years.

Bama has had a pretty long run of not having any players in trouble. I think Pritchett was the last (?) I just hope we keep staying out of the news in any bad way.

Maybe, along with most likely poor upbringing.

This is a huge factor that most people overlook. Many of these players come from horrible situations where they know nothing except for violence. They respond the only way they've ever seen. It's why we've had more than a few Tide alums find trouble after graduation. All of that being said....

....Kirby showed his true character on the way our of Tuscaloosa when he used our recruiting board against us. His character shows up in the culture of his team.

I imagine he’ll plead that felony down but still I can’t imagine he’ll be playing anytime before October if that with this playing out

EVERY TEAM is susceptible to this…..but they do indeed seem to be having more than their fair share. We’ve had some, but they were more spaced out over time it seemed under CNS. As mentioned, the occurrence of former players going off the rails after they leave is a testament to CNS’s program structure and expectations while in the program, IMO. For some, unfortunately, it’s the only structure they’ve ever known. You can’t, however, undo the damage of 18 years of crappy parenting though.
