The reason why Christian nationalist pastor Joel Webbon has "grown to despise democracy" is because it allows women to vote: "I think the 19th Amendment should be repealed. I think that because, first and foremost, I'm a Christian. That is the Christian position."
Joel can go flip himself sideways.

He is just another in a long line of morons who wrongly considers himself the arbiter of what it means to be "Christian".

There's simply NOTHING I know of to support women being unequal or unable to lead in the teachings of Christ. Certainly if he wanted women to be second class, there would be ample teachings from him saying that. It's the men who wrote the New Testament and formed and took over the church who demanded women be second class citizens probably for their own personal benefits.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

no you are correct. My opinion but as a career salesguy I know a pitch when I see it. "believe in our system and we support you having control of your own household"

I'm not talking about the Old Testament, as the current church is supposedly based upon Jesus's teachings.
And much of what I see has little to do with Jesus's actual teachings, as written in the Bible.

Your original post seemed to state that the men who wrote the New Testament were the ones who made women second class citizens by what they wrote in the New Testament. If that's not what you meant then my apologies. That's how I read it. So going from that, my point was if you think the New Testament made women second-class citizens I can only imagine what you think of the Old Testament where the same God the Father and the same God the Son (Jesus) existed.

Also, Jesus is as much in the Old Testament as in the NT. Jesus didn't come into existence when He took earthly form via the virgin birth and growing up into a man. Jesus sat at the right hand of God the Father and in the presence of God the Holy Spirit before creation and as they directed the Israelites throughout the Old Testament. This is disclosed in the New Testament.

My question for you is what is your view of what the Bible actually is? That will determine how you view what it says and what authority it has in any area of your life if any.
