Three months after the Covid-19 pandemic forced bars and restaurants to close in Florida, some businesses have shut within one week of reopening as coronavirus cases spike in the state.

At least six bars in northern and central Florida have now announced their closures amid new Covid-19 cases, which peaked on Sunday.

The problem - even though PPE was saved for healthcare workers, the message that masks don't help stop the spread is impossible to wipe from the minds of many people. Mixed messages killed people.

It was, in hindsight, a huge mistake. And like the WHO statement on asymptomatic spread you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube no matter how hard you try. That said, some folks simply want to be contrary and so they are.

Wow! The pub my stepson works at is overflowing in New Smyrna Beach. He's had it but nearly died, so he's still operating in a state of fear. He went to a beach party of other survivors a couple of weeks ago, which I considered foolish, but, so far, none have contracted it again...

Ironically, I've seen the council president's son and entire family masked up several times. One time, his son made it obvious to distance himself from me in Costco while saying hello. I was shocked when I saw he voted no.
