It's shockingly expensive to attend a game at BDS

Personally, I quite enjoy standing and cheering our team after every big play, singing the fight song after every score, screaming my head off while the opposing team has the ball, feeling that rush when the noise causes the other team to get a false start or delay penalty or have to call a timeout, and singing Rammer Jammer at the end of the game.

Fans are a part of the game and can have an effect - albeit a relatively small one - on the outcome of the game.

If you want to sit on your hands and not actually participate, well - as I said - that's your prerogative.

There's an older couple that sits right in front of us at just about every game. They don't really cheer and miss quite a few plays because they rarely stand. And he spends a fair portion of the game covering his ears because of the volume of my wife and myself. However, to their credit, I've never seen or heard them complain about it.

Personally, I don't understand the draw of being a "lazy fan" at the ballgame. If my age, attitude, or other circumstances were to prevent me from actively participating in the game as a fan, I'd just stop going.

Of course, I'll probably die before that happens...
"Lazy fan" . . . OK.

Yes - it's in quotes because that's my terminology.

I use it to refer to fans that have the appearance of being lazy. It doesn't mean they are, necessarily, lazy people - just that sitting on one's hands and, especially, complaining about having to stand up has the appearance of being lazy.

I, myself, am generally quite a lazy person but I am not a lazy fan...

It is absurd at times. Heading home today from a convention I’ve been working. Hotel has “valet only” parking. The cost, after taxes was $70 a night. Just to occupy a space in their parking garage.

Today's the day to go for cheap. Probably get 4 tkts for $20. Not exactly great competition but could be a good day to go for those that don't normally go. Probably won't be huge crowd, temps not terrible, early game, etc. Go, enjoy, get home at reasonable time.

No reason you cant make as much noise sitting (and using the seat you paid for) as standing
Agree with @Bamaro and have to disagree with @uafan4life. I don't want to stand the whole game (or really any part of the game). I want to sit and enjoy and jump up when we do something good or refs do something bad. Standing just to stand is for the birds...literally... and the kids. :D

Regardless, you literally CANNOT make as much noise sitting as you can standing - the diaphragm has less room while sitting...

That is about the only good thing about games like today. Folks can get tickets cheap. I saw lower level tickets today for $20. And upper level for $4.

It's the fleecing of America at work. We pay thousands to go to Disney and stay at their expensive resorts and then they charge us to park in their huge parking lots.

I expect this in New York City where space is limited, but in most places, they are just sticking it to us.

Well, if you're like me, you don't really yell much anyway b/c you go hoarse in pregame warmups :D

I probably fit your definition of a "lazy fan" in the stadium. I'm much more inclined to enjoy games sitting in my home theater than beside/around drunks or incessantly standing & screaming fans in the nosebleed where my seats are ... but that's just me at age 50+ with bad knees now :D
