I saw two Josh Pate videos.
One was the reaction to the Sooner loss.
Illustrative stat: in Bama's three losses, Milroe has 28 yards rushing. Not 28 yards per game. 28 yards total. Talk about a team that lives or dies by the QB's performance.

The other was college football officiating.
The crew that called Williams covered up was the same crew that messed up the call in the UGA-Tejas game. The same crew. Holy smokes, Greg, you have got to do something about that.
For the record, I do not think that Bama lost this game because of this blown call. But it was egregious. That dude should not be officiating SEC games.
Josh Pate absolutely NAILS it on officiating!!!:rolleyes:

Auburn will definitely try hard to get to 6-6 but our guys were embarrassed so badly I think they'll come ready to play and try to prove we're still a decent football team. Plus our guys have some bulletin board material now.

That is the weird "hard to explain" thing of this team.
I think they will be so angry at giving away their opportunity last weekend that they will come out angry and play with the intensity they did against UGA (1st half anyway) or LSU, or Mizzou. If they do that they win by 20.
That's my hope anyway.

I don't think any current player on our roster has lost to Auburn. We have beaten them 4 years in a row. I hope our real team leaders speak up and that the entire team is ready physically and mentally. Not just because it is Auburn, but it is senior day and we also need to make sure Auburn is NOT bowl eligible.

One good thing... I'm glad it is not a night game. These games are over so late here eastern time. I am very glad the game is at home this year. I don't think we will get Jason Autrey's ref crew since they called Auburn's game last week. I don't want the crew we had last week either. Ken Williamson's crew loves to throw flags every series. Hopefully whoever we get will be fair and not biased. I realize non of the crews are that great but at least be consistent for both teams.

I hope you are right.

This is probably the least I've ever cared about the outcome of an IB.

I've become so conditioned by CNS that EVERYTHING is on the line when we play AU because wrt the Big Picture they were.

AU was just a road block on the way to the SECCG and the CFBP and now that it's off the table I just don't care.

I hate Tennessee and I very much dislike both LSU and UGA.

I feel nothing towards AU.

I want to win and don't want to lose as a default but I also am just so done with Lank.

I don't want to back into the playoffs and extend their tenure.

The only way I could get excited again is if I saw #15 run onto the field.

The Vanderbilt coaching staff wrote the book on how to beat Alabama and it was followed to a "T" by two of our three losses. Put 7 or 8 guys on the line of scrimmage, blitz at least one linebacker on every passing play and the biggest #1 key on defense; set the edge on Jalen Milroe. For some reason he always tries to outrace everyone to the edge on every single run. Gotta turn it upfield and get that first down. Every run doesn't have to be a homerun.

The Barn is going to do the same thing. Can we adjust? We haven't yet this season.

That would be a heck of a change-up.
If the Barn spends all week preparing to stop Milroe (which is, let's face it, not complicated; not saying it is easy, but it is not complicated), and then Bama fields a QB who can throw a slant, a screen, or an out, then the Barn would have to adjust on the fly.

That's a great explanation of why Simpson should have come in against OU when things started going badly.

I think it's well known by now that Auburn starts prepping for Alabama like week 2 of the season. It's their Super Bowl. Look at the absurd talent disparity in 2021 and 2023, games we likely should have lost that came down to overtime or miracle plays.

Then there's the fact that our guys don't have much to play for. If they didn't care enough against OK for a playoff spot, how will they care about Auburn?

Freeze was hired specifically to beat Saban/Alabama, and they seem to be peaking as a team.

Yeah I really, really don't feel good about this.
After this past weekedn's crapfest, no one should feel good about the Iron Bowl. Oh dear, will they give a darn this week? Will they have any pride?
