Having to "light a fire" under a team at halftime who'd already proclaimed they were coming into this game to "set the tone" for the 2020 season bothers me. It really does. After the embarrassing way our defense played all year you would think they would be knocking mouth pieces and jock straps off the opposing team. But, it appeared they weren't that motivated. The post game interview with Coach Saban sounded exactly like he had to chew their butts out for lack of effort. If that truly was the case that is simply pathetic.
Watch out Brother Tider....some people think we disrespect CPG with comments that have nothing to do with the number of injuries as it relates to just plain old lethargic performance.

Where ever there's BBQ, Bourbon & Football
My point was that I suspect it wasn't just players that got blasted. Either Golding drastically improved in the second half or Saban made some schematic changes and let Golding go from there...
Which would be even more pathetic seeing the coaches are getting paid to do their jobs. But either way. Whatever he said or did in the locker room worked and they came out and played Alabama football. But there was no doubt the physicality drastically changed in the second half. I'm hoping we don't have this problem next season or LSU will be in the SECCG again.

With a playoff, a P5 school should not care about their schedule. Win all of your games and you are in, even if you play in the ACC or PAC.
I agree. Last year it was Bama, Clemson and Notre Dame going undefeated and in this year of course, LSU, Ohio State and Clemson. The trick is if there is a team with a loss getting in and which team that should be. All the metrics I have seen have Bama in the top 4 along with LSU, Ohio State and Clemson but Bama had 2 losses to Oklahoma's 1.

I think once a team losses a game then after that the metrics should come into play deciding which teams with losses should get in. Annotation 2020-01-02 141814.png

lol that means he's not going anywhere anytime soon unless he leaves on his own. UM is not going to fire him. The fanbase is mixed ... I've been reading mgoblog.com and some want him gone others believe they are still at a good point and only need to tweak a few things. These are some of the discussed points:

• Patterson is lackluster and the reason why Gaddis offense didnt work
• They need better receiver play
• They need better RB play/the backup should have played more
• The defense needs work/defensive scheme doesn't work/Don Brown needs to go
• The DC is good, just need a better D Line coach
• CJH isn't the problem
• CHJ is the problem, hasn't produced a QB in six years
• UM is who they are and is not a football factory like OSU, Bama, ect.

it's all pretty interesting, its like a tale of two fanbases ...
1) one group that thinks CJH is doing a great job for the school and has a winning program that produces 9-10 wins a season and
2) a group that understands that CJH is a coach that will only produce 9-10 wins a season and will not win anything significant and this group wants and expects more

I said in a previous thread that UM is the "Georgia of the Big 10" and I truly believe that. CJH developed a solid program, and doing well in recruiting, but has yet to win a significant game in six seasons (count em, SIX) being there. To put in context, UGA has been to the playoffs and even played for a NC in less than 4 years with CKS. OSU just made it to the playoffs with a first year coach.

Michigan essentially is a top-tier program with average results ... and how everything is going, I seriously doubt this trend changes anytime soon with CJH at the helm. I, for one, am fine with that.

Thanks for your contributions and continued interests in your program Boss!! Roll Tide! I appreciate ex-players no matter what school he is from because it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to stick it out through the workouts and practice. And because of people like yourself...I can still look forward to games such as we have seen this season and have made my eyes sore today!! Go Bama!! 2020 HERE WE COME!!
Oh I didn’t play football at Bama man, sorry if I gave that impression. I played other sports, and nothing with a scholarship. I just meant in my experience.

There are former players that do hang around and/or read, so shout out to all those guys!

Hey Brotherman it is all good. You made good points still. I wanted to play college ball, but I was made for humming in a stiff breeze. Entirely too small. Coaches made me run stadiums while the larger guys learned how to play football. Well now.....running stadiums for a coach is akin to having a prospective date offering you a breath mint. I did play Baseball. Still love Baseball today. When I worked in B'ham...I knew some ex-Bama players from the 70s and 80s. I even met Pat Sullivan. What a great guy he was. May he rest in Peace. He loved BBQ sammiches;)
