Bama Game Thread: Official PostGame Thread - Bama @ AU...

Speaking of Ryan Williams, I don't think he's on the team next year. Hard to tell. This weekend will determine a lot about him and his place on the team playing time wise.

Outside those 2 big busts on defense, that side of the ball played great. Offense was pretty much like most of the season: Looks good for about half the game and terrible for the other half.

IF we lose to UGA and the committee leaves us out isn’t that basically saying we’d have been better off beating FSU and losing to UGA early in the season?

After all, had that happened we would likely be one of the 10-2 teams that was basically already in the tournament without having to play in the conference championship game?

Not really. Basically had a bust on one play and a missed tackle on another that gave AU a third of their yards and 2 TDs. They were more than good enough outside of those 2 plays despite our offense putting them in bad positions multiple times.
Those two plays accounted for 130 yards, they had 26 total yards with 8:18 to go in the second quarter. They finished with 411 total yards. So that’s 253 yards of offense over 2 1/2 quarters without the long plays. Defense was getting gashed . It’s a good thing we made the TD on 4th and 2 because the way the barn moved down the field on the final drive, they would have been in FG range to win the game otherwise.
