Yet, every one of them lost that next game...Disagree. A bye does two things. 100% guaranteed to make the second round, and extra time to rest/recover from a long season.

Also, he was tipping the plays...Yeah it's difficult to win when your QB puts the FB at risk 20 times in a season.
11 INTs 9 Fumbles (6 Fumbles Lost)
I think he had like 3 Pick Sixes
Just a disaster at QB
Two starters came from us, two from Ole Miss and no doubt several others...OSU went to a different level when they got to the playoffs. They are the most complete team in this first year of the new era of college football. I watched the game last night because I like to watch good competitive games. Basically, OSU vs Texas was the championship game as far as I’m concerned. The only way ND beats OSU is if OSU beats itself. That being said, I’m not a fan of the new era college football (I’ll save you my rant on that). I do, however, congratulate OSU on the win and have a lot of respect for what I heard from their players after the game.
Yet they can’t line up and put people on their back either. Otherwise, we would at least have a semblance of a power running game.I agree. If this had been Bama playing Ohio State tonight, we would have witnessed one of those Honk if you sacked Milroe moments. Our OL is too big and slow for teams like OSU.
Bama with Moe Howard would have been a vast improvement.Bama with Will Howard makes it to the semis at least
Refs have historically loved themselves some Texas and some ND.The refs all year have been for the burnt orange. Now the whole college football world has no clue what targeting is because they didn’t want ASU to have a chance for a walk off FG.
Unabashedly, at that. Two starters came from us, two from Ole Miss and no doubt several others...
tOSU was built using players poached from other programs.
In my original post I alluded to a rant. What you mention is just one of the things I would include in my dislike about the latest version of college footballTwo starters came from us, two from Ole Miss and no doubt several others...

We haven’t been innocent here either. Whether it be the NIL era or the transfer era we’ve always been active…Coker…Jamo…etc…Two starters came from us, two from Ole Miss and no doubt several others...
tOSU was built using players poached from other programs.
Three of the teams had no chance, 2 because they didn't belong and GA didn't have a QB. They would have knocked out in the first round without the bye. Oregon was the outlier, and lost because OSU was on a mission.Yet, every one of them lost that next game...
Yeah, the system of giving lower ranked teams a bye just because they won a weak conference has got to change. Top 4 ranked teams should get the bye's, whether they are conference champs or not. Penn State only got to the semi-finals because they had a cake walk on the way in.Boise State, SMU, and Arizona State never had a chance to make it to the finals. You could make a case if Texas and tOSU had been on different sides of the brackets, tOSU would likely be playing Texas rather than Notre Dame. I am glad the season is nearly over so we can look forward to spring football.
Leonard was a 3* out of Fairhope. Went to Duke and was the qb there from 2021-23. Played in 7 games for Duke in 2023, then in November said he was going in the portal. Signed with Notre Dame after that, so this is his senior year. He wasn't highly recruited out of high school. I think Nebraska, Tulane, and Syracuse were his biggest pursuers. Is Riley Leonard from Alabama? Did CNS not recruit him?
And now they just got $20,000,000 to go buy some more.6 of Notre Dame's starters this year were transfers. Those players did not come for free.
Line, both sides, evaluation, development, and execution have been sorely lacking the last five years.in many cases I think there is a link between the two, but the fact that DeBoer is starting to take a hammer to Saban’s big body offensive line I think there was still alot of blame on them as well. I think a defensive line like ND and Ohio State would live in our backfield even if we had a different quarterback.
How entertaining do you think those games would’ve been if you swapped places? The teams that had byes had chances to rest and gameplan, and still lost.Yet, every one of them lost that next game...
Was that $20M for the Sugar Bowl and then another $20M for the Cotton Bowl? And now they just got $20,000,000 to go buy some more.
Throw that on top of whatever they get from NBC for their independent contract and they’ll be in the mix for a bit…they really need to be affiliated w/a conference. Was that $20M for the Sugar Bowl and then another $20M for the Cotton Bowl?
The Bama standard has changed from winning championships to being more worried about their personal brand and NIL money than doing what it takes to win championships now.Line, both sides, evaluation, development, and execution have been sorely lacking the last five years.
Notre Dame says "Why?"....Throw that on top of whatever they get from NBC for their independent contract and they’ll be in the mix for a bit…they really need to be affiliated w/a conference.
