If you've ever been unsure about SEC officiating, you should watch the end of OT in the UGA/UK game this morning. UGA's player flattened the UK player and *no call*. The refs simply swallowed the whistle. That's a poor show of officiating.

I hate to agree with Tim Brando, but IF that's a foul in the first minute of regulation, then it's a foul in the last second of OT.

I'd bet that all of this rescheduling/poor officiating will end up costing the SEC an NCAA Tournament slot.

I was sitting by a couple of Florida fans and two guys that were fans of neither Bama nor Florida and we all talked about how inconsistant the officiating was thursday night.

It's been this way all weekend. Horrible officiating in this tournament. At the beginning of OT last night in the Bama game, a Miss. St. guy clearly took two steps walking trying to keep the ball in play, this happened right in front of the ref and he didn't call it. There were bad calls and no calls on both sides of the ball and just overall very inconsistent. I believe in letting the guys play but you've got to be consistent with the calls. I agree with Brando as well, a foul in the first minute is still a foul in the last.

I agree that SEC officiating is poor. I think it was a good no-call, however. Kentucky wanted the refs to bail them out, so they ran a play to create a foul. Their intent was not to try to execute a play to make a basket. But to get Georgia to foul them. I think that's why it wasn't called. If there had been contact while UK was executing a play to attempt a shot, I think it would have been called.

Point number two: We always remember the call at the end of the game. But perhaps UK got away with a foul or two against Georgia during the game. I'm a believer that they all even out eventually. You may be robbed one game, but later on, you will be the beneficiary of a bad call, too.

And it was a great play that was executed perfectly. A play like that is the mark of a good coach, and Gillespie is one of them. I definitely think they should have called the foul there. As has been said, a ref should call the game consistently throughout the entire game, regardless of the circumstances.

Analyze this: If CMG called that play (it'd never happen ;)), don't you think it should have been a foul??
