Bama has not had a 5 star QB win a national championship since I began keeping up with recruiting. That could change this year of course!
We will still get a very talented QB in this class. In fact we will probably get two.I still feel like we need a very good QB this class. We are 1 injury + 1 transfer from P. Ely starting next year. I'm sure he is a good kid but that doesn't give me the warm fuzzies.
I know... it doesn't seem right to post such disturbing information. : )My god, man, this is a fan board. How dare you offer perspective?
No apparently you are right.Hmmm...hadn't heard that. Everyone can disregard my post above then.
http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2011/05/jeff_sentell_jameis_winston_ti.htmlDameyune Craig, the former Auburn quarterback and current Florida State assistant coach, is recruiting him for the Seminoles.
It appears that school has made a solid impression, but it’s also his father Antonor’s favorite team.
His mother is an Auburn fan and his grandmother is a “Nick Saban fan.” But Winston’s own favorite is Oklahoma, ever since they beat his dad’s favorite team in 2000. But the Sooners are one of the few elite programs, along with LSU and Texas, that has yet to offer a scholarship. Scott contends when those schools see his junior film, that will change.
Childhood favorite Oklahoma finally came with an offer. He wants to see if Texas has any interest, too. He got the chance to visit with Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor on that Columbus trip. Pryor was the nation's top-rated player in 2008. He had to choose between basketball and football. The athletic comparisons between the two are obvious.
"He went through all this attention worse than me as the No. 1 guy." Winston said. "He told me not to get fed up with it. He said I don't have to tell anyone where I want to go but to just know myself where I wanted to go. He also gave out the pros of going to Ohio State."
It was an old video interview from way back. I have looked in earnest and can not find it. You are right he said that a lot of his friends in Hueytown were Auburn fans. I am not saying he said he was an Auburn fan just that he pulled for them. His mother is an Auburn fan, so that makes some sense to me that he would pull for AU against Bama. His father is an FSU fan. Jameis himself has said his favorite team is Oklahoma.Get some swag confidence going on and talk some major smack. RUB it in their FACES like there is NO TOMORROW cause at 2pm you are going to get to give some major "Talk to the Hand" smack to them.
As for Winston being a Awburn fan. I'd like to see that quote. He may have said he was "surrounded" by Auburn supporters. The majority of the people he knows in Hueytown are Auburn supporters. However come Iron bowl, Winston was standing up for his team. However, he's not such a diehard nut that he can't cheer for Auburn because he does have a social circle that supports Auburn.
Alabama was the first team he wanted to go to since middle school.
Anyhow, I'd be sticking it to those FSU buddies because you can do some major "Ha ha ha nany nany bo bo" to them once its been anounced.
I tried to warn ya that you needed to just stay strong and don't let em get to you.. they'd try.
If nothing else, ask them how many times he visited their campus. How many times he visit Bama? Why would you make Bama your home (by visiting constantly) if you weren't planning a future nest there? Shoot, Winston probably is probably even on a 1st name basis with the security guards. He probably has a private entrance (lol). Wouldn't be surprised if he had the keys to the city.
I didn't ever really see him visit FSU that much. Perhaps it was too far or expensive to go to often?
If that's the case, why would they EVER think he'd leave his Boo behind. He couldn't go that long with out her. She's a great girl. Beautiful, intelligent, poised, and a athlete herself. Bet they'd have some super athletic kids too someday.
Anyhow, This will be the 2nd Recruit you can actually say you were already WELL in the loop on.
DID you KNOW that other "PREMIUM" chat forums actually referenced the THREAD here. My buddy told me someone mentioned by "insistence" as well.. I never read the post myself.
Also, I've often wondered what prompted the interviewer in the last interview with Winston to ask about his relationship with Gunner since Gunner had already announced Indiana and it was an irrelevant question. The "rift" wasn't something well known about or discussed at all in the media. It hadn't come up before. But I did post it here. I think we can all agree Winston's response, although PC, confirmed what I was saying in that Not so well known detail. SO perhaps this thread was read by more than just some forum junkies.
I also noticed some threads on another site called "******* official Jamies winston discussion ******" or something like. At of nothing posted there. Noticed some of our conversations here were reparlayed over there though.
I wanted to link to it so you all could feel good knowing that this was the Forum to be watching.. but I was afraid the Mod might throw some gavel at me since I'm apparently already on their nerves.
Don't worry bout me coming back and saying "I told you so" because I already "told you so" before hand so there is no need to stick it to the haters further. Their irritable disposition is quite enough. They know that I know and that's all that needs to be known.
Didn't want to put his Boo on blast like that but yes, he's not going to leave her behind. I wonder it probably crossed her mind a time or two. Those two are rather funny. Cute couple. Hopefully they have the maturity to weather it together because its so easy to let others tear you apart.I'm with you CS. And if you're wondering Alabamafb I am the one who shared your posts on BOL simply because I thought it'd be interesting to discuss. I really don't know what to believe at this point b/c I went out with a girl who's really close to Breion's family in high school and all they've told me is Alabama or MLB. 'Spose we'll see tomorrow, one thing is for sure I won't be goiing back to Bamaonline tomorrow what with the owner of the site conceding him and all...either way it goes your posts have been interestin' to follow that's for sure.
Everybody get your Beer glasses ready!! I'm ready for it to be over and done with so we can move forward to getting to know our next recruit in the other positions we are looking at.
I suppose the only thing left to do is trust in what you say. If you're a troll you're an extremely good one I'll say that much. Can't deny that a lot of what you've posted has been repeated to me in verbatim by different people though. Don't know if you're still around but I'm real curious as to what Antonor thinks of Damieyne Craig really. I've heard that Damieyne said some pretty nasty things regarding UA and playing a black QB..Everybody get your Beer glasses ready!! Ahh.. We are in the 10,9,8,7,6,5...ect window.. ]I suppose the only thing left to do is trust in what you say. If you're a troll you're an extremely good one I'll say that much. I know everyone is saying this "De facto" 3pm eastern/2pm on ESPNU..
Where did they get that time? From each other (chatter chatter).. !Prob the same place they got the FSU commit story from.. Bwhahaha!
Espn U has college football blitz scheduled for 3:30pm Central Time. ( it could be at 3pm cdt on the CFlive show)
ESPN TV Listings - ESPN
Sorry for the confusion. I couldn't find anywhere that said 5pm CDT ON Col FB live so perhaps as everyone becomes caught up to "our board" then you will see some corrections to the times that the chatter has spread.

SO NOW we are 12 hours till annoucement !!!
Just curious - are these national 247 guys or are they the FSU 247 writers?I'd like to see Winston in Crimson but...247sports insiders are reporting him to FSU and already congratulating the FSU fans. FSU has a lot of momentum this year but I still hope to see Winston at BAMA. We will know later today.
So... When is it? 2:30? 4? 5?Jameis Winston said his father and his girlfriend know, along with a couple of Hueytown High teammates and a former teammate.
Other than that, it’s a secret where the highly touted senior quarterback wants to play college football.
His mother, Loretta, doesn’t know for sure, but thinks she does. His beloved grandmother, Myrtle Winston, can say the same thing, but they aren’t asking a kid rated among the nation’s top quarterbacks where he’s going to play every day.
Winston will let everyone in on his college choice during an expected 2:30 p.m. ESPNU broadcast today from a Birmingham television station.
