We should have cloned that guy, Keith Jackson, calling that game! The Best that ever was! I guess we could still do it since he's still alive. Chris Schenkel was better that what we currently have! And Lindsey Nelson, a Vol graduate who married a Bama girl, wasn't bad!
That George Teague play where he ran down that Miami WR and stole the ball from him was probably the greatest defensive play in College Football history. We should have cloned that guy, Keith Jackson, calling that game! The Best that ever was! I guess we could still do it since he's still alive. Chris Schenkel was better that what we currently have! My wife and I went to my mom and dads house to watch the game, they had ordered BBQ so we made sandwiches before the game started. We ate again at halftime, near the end of halftime I started feeling sick to my stomach, went to the bathroom and didn't come out again until the game was nearly over. I had the worst case of food poisoning I ever had. My good little Aubie wife came in periodically to check on me to see if I was still alive. I missed one of the greatest games in Alabama football history because of a strand of meat. We still laugh about that, mom and dad and my grandparents didn't ever miss me they were so into the game.1992 will always be my favorite too. 2009 a close second.
Have had this running on my Chromecast on my office while I work this afternoon and I can say without any reservation that for Mario Cristobal this year is far better than 92 he went down with an injury in Q2 as the Canes RT (he's #72 on the left of that screenshot)
Close out the work day watching the replay of the 1993 Sugar Bowl on youtube?
we lucked into it for sure. if we wouldn't have had all of those turnovers, we wouldn't have scored enoughI heard we stole the game from Miami.
I remember going to pay my cable bill one time. I was walking out as Houston was walking in. I held the door, as I'd do for anyone, and he had to still open the other door as he was too big to fit through just 1 open door. Dude was huuuuuge in personWatching the 1993 Sugar Bowl...Houston is a fierce fullback.
Rewatching that broadcast today I only heard Warren Sapp's name once, that was a good O-LineThe thing that I takeaway from the '93 Sugar Bowl is absolute demolition of an offense and Heisman winner. Defense just out-athlete'd them up front then out-thought them in the 2nd half with those two decisive interceptions.
Another thing: it is impressive how much better OL teaching has gotten in pass protection over the last few decades. You can tell that in this period that DLs had a huge upper hand on the OLs. Miami even pushed us around quite a bit but we did a much better job of creasing them in the run game.
