Even though I know it's needed, I really hate to change up our offense this much. But if he can win with it I don't care what he runs...RTR
Change is going to happen, but a good HC knows how to mold and use the talent at hand to build his team. The coach we hire will be ablke to do that in spades. Embrace the change and enjoy the ride!

Pat White was injured in that game. Otherwise, they probably don't lose. If Rodriguez is hired, we'll be fine.

FYI to all who don't seem to get it:

CRR has more up his offensive sleeve than an option attack. His offenses threw the ball all over the field while @ Tulane. Shaun King broke several school and NCAA passing records while playing for CRR @ Tulane. So, don't go thinking the offense WVU ran lst night would be the offense @ Bama if he comes.
I hope it is though. Lol! I like that offense and have a feeling we have the personnel who could adapt to it fairly quickly.

:)

Note sure if this has been posted but here is an old article about CRR's offense.

I couldn't get the link button to work...

I for one woud hope CRR is offered and accepts.
I am beginning to lean this way myself. The more I see and hear CRR, the more I am convinced that he may be the most logical choice. I would be excited to have him. The only thing that concerns me is his ability to handle the pressure. I would not give Saban very long to consider (if it is true that he will be offered) and I would go after CRR full force. Better yet, I may skip the Saban offer totally.

Coach Rod has my vote! If we can't get Spurrier, Saban or Stoops, I think Coach Rod will meet our expectations.

Has anybody heard if any Bama personnel has met with Coach Rod yet? I heard they were suppose to meet for an interview after the Saturday night game but been quite since then.

Just looking for an update if anybody has heard anything (through the grapevine)!

I am still baffled at how anybody EVER put Bob Stoops on Bama's list. To be very frank, this would not even be a lateral move at the moment for Stoops...it would be a step down! I love Bama as much or more than anyone, but whomever started the Stoops talk was literally asleep and dreaming. The only reason to consider leaving OU is due to the impending NCAA sanctions and I don't see Bob Stoops as somebody who will run from this issue. Also, it was handled almost immediately and I don't see the sanctions being that bad at all. Maybe 2 or 3 scholarships and 3 years probation with no bowl sanctions at all. This won't be a big deal.

My understanding is that Stoops' name keeps coming up because the guys on the board with the best connections keep hearing his name brought up by the people who really matter. Am I wrong in making that assumption?

Having said that, I tend to agree with Alanbama. Then again, we're well aware of coaches willing to step down to take over weaker programs...

I second that, lets go get RR and forget about the rest.

CRR is a very, very good coach. But there are other very, very good coaches who would do quite well at Bama. I've mentioned several names on a bunch of different threads and I'd be delighted with any one of them.

Kragthorpe would bring Charlie Stubbs back.

Gary Patterson is doing better at TCU than franphoney did.

Johnson's recruiting abilities are underrated.

Grobe's overall record is over-emphasized.

Kelly.

Cubit.

Gosh, just pick one and this time next year, we're making BCS bowl reservations.

Not lateral if he sees corruption in the program that he can't stop. He is a clean coach & might just leave rather than having his rep tarnished.

CRR would be the answer to a great deal of our problems. I understand that many people are worried about his defense, and I am one of them. But, I also have the feeling that if we were to hire him, he would have a heckuva budget to bring in whatever coordinaters he wants (hopefully Kines will be one of them). With the right staff backing CRR up, I don't see many bad days for the Tide ahead.

I'm concerned that WV has yet to stop anybody from running up major points on their defense ever since RR has been there.

I'm afraid RR might want to bring all of his assistants with him. I hope that isnt a deal breaker. I'd like to see RR come and keep Joe Kines.

On Fox 6 they said that we would talk with RR. Is this true or are they spreading more rumors? That is terrible that a TV station can report something and I have to ask if it is true or not, but I just don't know. They also say they expect something by Friday. Is any of this being reported anywhere else?
