They had better be ready to "shoot and scoot," since the Russians are pretty good at counterbattery fire. One of the tactical imperatives that led to the fielding of the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) is that it can fire and be on the road in a couple of minutes. With towed arty, that is tougher to do.
