My first instinct about settlements is that either it's an admission of guilt or they are trying to avoid discovery because there is so much worse out there than what they were dealing with initially. In this case, I'm leaning toward the second option.

Since when are snowflakes the only people that get to have "safe spaces"?

and the overwhelming hordes of rapists, murderers and drag queens coming over the border, stealing our roofing, fruit-picking, garment worker jobs.

There may be an element of that, but, using Occam's Razor, they didn't want their merger screwed up...

It's certainly possible and at the very least a contributing factor. If Trump wants to test them, then part of the settlement should include:

1. An admission that they were working to influence the election

2. An admission that they did indeed doctor the interview for that purpose and

3. A public apology to all Americans

If this merger means as much to them as we think, they'll do it.

Paramount to Pay Trump $16 Million to Settle ‘60 Minutes’ Lawsuit
President Trump had sued over an interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris. The company needs federal approval for a multibillion-dollar sale.

... Shari Redstone, the chair and controlling shareholder of Paramount, told her board that she favored exploring a settlement with Mr. Trump. Some executives at the company viewed the president’s lawsuit as a potential hurdle to completing a multibillion-dollar sale of the company to the Hollywood studio Skydance, which requires the Trump administration’s approval.

So, in order to get the media giant sale moving forward, you have to agree to the probable lie that the interview had anything to do with trying to sway an election.

If we went after skewing interviews to sway elections, FoxNews would have been out of business a decade or more ago.

You know, for most people, the fact that your evening news anchorman lost his career trying to rig an election - and working with the campaign - would be a cause of self reflection. And we can hardly say he doesn’t recognize it in light of the fact that he conveniently excluded the guy who succeeded Cronkite.

I reiterate: none of this started with Fox News. They are terrible, but they are not the ones that began this sojourn into entertainment.

It has come to my attention that Washington Post reporter @nakashimae appears to be actively harassing ODNI staff. Instead of reaching out to my press office, she is calling high level Intelligence Officers from a burner phone, refusing to identify herself, lying about the fact that she works for the Washington Post, and then demanding they share sensitive information.

Apparently, publishing leaked classified material wasn't enough for the Washington Post, so now they’ve decided to go after the Intelligence professionals charged to protect it.

This is a clear political op by the same outlet and the same reporter who harassed and stalked my family in Hawaii.

This kind of deranged behavior reflects a media establishment so desperate to sabotage @POTUS’s successful agenda that they’ve abandoned even a façade of journalistic integrity and ethics. The Washington Post should be ashamed, and they should put an end to this immediately.

The idea that ANYONE in this administration gives a rip about classified material may kill me from the non-stop laughter emanating at the moment.

They have a SECDEF dumb enough to invite an ideologically opposite reporter onto their bombing meeting, Orange Coonskin Cap waltzed off to Florida with it, and their apologetics for Russia are worse than Stalin - but SURE, they CARE about "classified info."

It's a crying shame the media went full cheerleader for the Left and destroyed their credibility. We sure could use an objective free press right now, but I guess we'll settle for the one we have.

Some will; I will not. We cannot afford to settle for this. We cannot tolerate this. Giving up only signals consent. I’m reasonably certain that is what they want.
