lacey's display picture on facebook is him at rupp arena.
Well, I guess that's about all I need to know......
Wish we could keep some of these kids in state sometimes. Mr. Lacey looks like he's going to be a stud, just still hoping he becomes that stud in Crimson and White!

I don't know that his profile picture tells us too much. It might, though.

Does anyone expect him to be one and done like Bledsoe and Demarcus?

might just be the latest trip he was on. of course, i'm not holding out much hope either way. and, yeah, i would think any athlete of his caliber who has potential grade issues would have to be considered a lean for a short time in school.

I think the more we win, the more Coach Grant will be able to do that. However, the reality of the situation is us trying to keep elite level basketball talent in state is a lot like schools such as Kentucky and Louisville trying to keep elite level football talent in state. If the kid didn't grow up a fan, more than likely the big boys from out of state will swoop in and take him. Almost like what Coach Saban is doing in Georgia.

When the local payers stay in state, our college teams are good and our fans are committed. Of course we have to supplement with good out of state talent. C.M. Newton, Wimp, and Sonny Smith were good at keeping the locals home.

this was the last trip he took....don't read too much into this at all because while butler was playing in the regionals at wallace state, a reporter asked lacey that he heard he was going to kentucky and that he comitted the previous night.....trevor took offense to this and said that it wasn't true and that he has told everyone that he would take all of his OV's and make his decision.....kentucky was his last OV, atleast i'm pretty sure, because he's been to UCONN, BAMA, AU, and now UK....and i think that's the only schools he had on his radar as of about a month or so ago.

When did he go to UCONN?

Were these visits official or unofficial visits? I was under the impression that these were unofficials and that he would take offcials once the season was over. I was hoping that we could get in one more visit from him.

You may be right. I just hope that we get him. He would cap off what is already a really good class.

i think if he goes to kentucky he'll leave after 3 or 4 years, if he comes to bama maybe 2.

Why do you feel that way? Calipari is known for getting players to are one-and-done. Look at his Memphis teams. Look at last year at UK (3 players). He'll probably have a couple this year too.

because if he goes there he'll have 1 or 2 players better than him at his position.

Anyone heard anything about Lacey announcing his decision today, Sun Mar 13, on ESPN? I heard this a couple of times yesterday but I was, and still am, under the impression he wouldn't do so til mid-April.

i've not heard that. in fact, this is completely contrary to all the interviews and quotes where he's said he will wait to make a decision.

I'm telling you, if these kids from instate start staying home everyone else had better watch out. If you had all the kids that leave this state to play basketball at some of the bigger basketball name schools it would be ridiculous.
Ole Miss and Miss State wish the same thing about football. The reality is, that I'd rather get the Mississippi kids to come to "big name" Alabama to play football, than have the Alabama kids stay home to play basketball. But it would be nice in theory to keep them here. of course, that would mean that Auburn and UAB get some too because there are only so many spots each year.

That's an unnecessary comment.
