Trevor Lacey is scheduled to announce his school of choice today, Wednesday May 18th

Maybe I'm wrong, but I just can't see this being a factor. Are any of the schools that he's looking at going to turn him away if he's NCAA eligible? If he's not eligible, it doesn't matter where he signs May 18 anyway. I see nothing but public schools on his list and therefore can't imagine him being turned away by any. Like it's been mentioned, I think the draft status of certain players, along with visits, have been the main reason for waiting.

I don't think it matters, but then again, there have been players that couldn't qualify for SEC schools that would go to a C-USA one.

just heard it's scheduled for 2pm tomorrow and he and his dad both have stated in interviews that Lacey is confused and won't know for sure where he wants to go until tomorrow right before his announcement. I honestly think he's going to UK, hope I'm wrong, but that's just me.

havent heard that anybody will be carrying it? but that doesn't mean that nobody will be. i listen to JOX at work so i'm sure they will give the notification as soon as it happens. Maybe 97.7 might carry it live on the radio since they are here in huntsville?

If he's really confused at this point I don't think it bodes well for Bama.

Was it ever confirmed that he's academically eligible???

Moon, I think you're right. A month ago, I would have bet money I don't have that he was coming to Tuscaloosa. The longer this dragged out, the more our chances suffered. If we get him, great. If we don't, we'll make do with the class we have already.

I tend to think he's not heading to T-Town either, given the possibility to play early, like it seems to be at UK and KU.

UK is loaded with talent. KU lost a lot, so he does have that. Going to UK and playing immediately would be like a 5* player coming to Bama and expect to play football immediately.

Lacey is tentatively scheduled to announce his college choice sometime around 2 or 3 p.m. CST on Wednesday. Hopefully it will be good news for Coach Grant and Bama.

They do have a lot of talent, and I don't think he'd be a starter day one at UK, but if there was ever a time to go to UK and compete for early time as a freshman, I'd say it's now. The talent isn't that deep at SG there right now unless Gilchrist ends up playing there.
