re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

I wish people like you wouldn't post. You are a fair weather fan. You have no idea what faith, trust and commitment are. Maybe you didn't read the 100 or so times Crimson Surfer posted how "fluid" recruiting is. Auburn MAY have the best O line in three or four years, BUT while they are developing that we will compete for titles over that same span. I am asking you in as nice a way as possible, PLEASE don't post again.

Let me tell you something... I have gone to every Bama game in the past 10 years, have sat in the rain for the Tide, support our basketball program immensely (am leaving in a few hours for the MSU game), have waited for hours for autographs for me and my fam (gifts), and am transferring to Bama in the next semester. My Dad gives donations yearly, I am good friends with several high ranking guys in our program, and your post sickens me. Don't ever call out my fandom again, it is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Now, you can go back and put on your crimson glasses and call guys like me "Fair weather fans." Trust and commitment is going to every Iron Bowl during the 6 year span and watching us lose, but waiting until the game was over and still yelling my voice out for the team. I love Bama, and hate Auburn. Maybe I have an unnatural hate for them, as I lived there for 1.5 years.

I hate losing Cyrus, but it stings because all of the "Insiders" on other sites had him a lock to Bama as of last night. I wish him the best at Auburn, and he will do very well. CGC and staff have done a solid job recruiting.

in all honesty though, if you're actually 50/50 between Bama and the barn...if you're genuinely having difficulty with the decision....you don't belong at Bama in the first place

Amazing. On one hand, it seemed like Cyrus might have always wanted to do his own thing. On the other hand, you gotta think the Barn put their best possible smear job on Bama. Makes me sick.

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Huge pick up for Auburn! Not a flamer here Alabama is still a couple recruiting classes better than Auburn but we are getting closer. I am not a delusional Auburn fan who thinks Auburn will win a championship every year but I believe that we can stand and be equals to any team on the football field and in the recruiting battles. Keep these things in mind, we have kept our coaching staff in place, getting a top five recruiting class two years straight and it looks as if the smoke from the rumors about Auburn has cleared up! I am looking forward to the classic Iron Bowls to be played from here on out. I do believe that the road to the BCSNCG rolls through Tuscaloosa this year so make it three years running guys!

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Auburn whipped us again today, just like they did in during the 2nd half in late November. No way around it, they are recruiting at our level now. Ruined the day for me, especially knowing that we are now done for the day. Crowell coming? Get real, just setting ourselves up for another disaster. LOL @ all of the insiders from BOL and others claiming he was Bama bound. AU is going to have the best O line in the nation in 3-4 years. Of all the talk of the barn burning, looks like their coaches are all staying and they are recruiting on an equal level with us.
Not to go off on any tangent here, but I'm pretty firmly in the camp that thinks it's just that...talk.

Anyway, extremely disappointed we lost this guy. Have figured he was a lock for us since last signing day. Strange days indeed.

A+ to this entire post. People must have forgotten what we recruited over the last two years that has yet to touch the field. Cyrus will start from day 1 at AU. If he needs that much work on his pass blocking skills (which ESPNU analyst said he needed) then odds are he'd RS and if he didn't get a whole 'lot better the year after could very well be still riding the bench. Good points BF777.

We need to not let something like this sink the ship for us. I think the biggest disappointment for the entire family is going to be what they experience with what comes along with a situation like this. Two brothers going to ravalry schools like Bama/Barn. Don't think for one minute that this is going to handled with an "Oh golly gee guys!! This is going to be fun!!". With what they're going to have to put up with from both fanbases and the media I have a feeling they will look back and wish this would had never happened.

Almost certain chance Cyrus would have to red-shirt for Bama.......his pass blocking needs a lot of work, and we all saw how Fluker did at the beginning of the year pass-blocking, even after a red-shirt.

With Aaron Douglas, Fluker, Arie, and a few other OT jockeying for playing time.....there was a chance that Cyrus wouldn't see the field next year....his ego, he thinks he is three years and out for the NFL. At Bama, he would almost certain red shirt, Auburn, Cyrus will start next year. It's that simple.

Aaron Douglas is a proven Freshman All-American in the SEC.......Fluker put in his RS, and his lumps last year....he's gotten a lot better. Then there is 6-6 335 Arie who didn't see the field last year. There is one of the top OT out of High School, Tyler Love, who is now almost an after-thought. Who can blame Cyrus from taking the easy road....he's actually a smart kid, if you think about it.

And maybe Auburn will pony up the $200k cash again!

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

My goodness people grow up. Cyrus went to the barn. It stings but to start putting him down, calling him selfish, saying that he isn't that good etc is just pain sour grapes. I hate that we lost and and felt very comfortable able us getting him but I am not going to act like some jilted 16 year old and say that the girl wasn't good anyway.

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

For those familiar with Alabama's depth chart, did Bama need another OL this year? I know we've signed three others, but did we need a 5-star to be in good shape? Wonder if the staff had a plan "B" or if one was even needed.

You always neeed an OLineman of Cyrus caliber..You can never have to many talented O-Lineman..In all Likelihood Cyrus was going t RS at Bama..He wants early PT..auburn promised him that & we didn't..

I was with you right up until that.

Who are you kidding?

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Well, wanted Cyrus at Bama, but it's not meant to be. He made his decision, and went to the Dark side that plays a different brand of football than most. If early playing time is important to him that's his right to go that route, I totaly understand this. Good luck to him because I think he's a kid most parents would be proud of, but when it's come time to play Bama. I just can't pull for him then, and I'm sure he understands this.

Bama will live on, and continue to strive to win Championships............

Amen. We are all sick over this, but life goes on. I wish Cyrus the best as he didn't look super happy with his decision. I wonder if he has buyers remorse yet?

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

I don't really understand letting an 18 year old kid ruin someone's day. He may or may not pan out at Auburn either way it does not matter where he plays. Even after CK's commitment both Rivals and ESPN have Bama's class rated better than AU.

Rivals.com - Football Recruiting - National Signing Day

College Football Recruiting - ESPN

The class as a whole is one of the best we've had since Saban has been here. It meets a lot needs especially on the defensive side of the ball, and better yet we are still in the running for the #1 player in the nation. Granted it is unlikely that he comes to Bama but we are still there. :BigA:

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

simple math.....troopa promise=immediate starter at LT from day one (no matter how bad he might suck or not) vs bama=having to work for the starting position at LT??? which would a kid who thinks he could play in the NFL choose? not to mention a wallett full of cash LOL :)

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Well, if the Barn gets the PLOI over the summer, we might indeed have the opportunity to get CK back over the summer if the NCAA does what they did with USC and allow incoming freshmen to transfer without penalty.

Its pretty obvious to me that most people in the country despite the media attention have no idea what is really going on with AU, Cam, Colonial, and BingoGate - especially these young guys. It also tells me despite the negative karma surrounding Barnville, Bama and UA continue to not negatively recruit against them.

re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Yes, it sucks because we really wanted CK to play with his brother. However, he chose not to.

ABOVE ALL ELSE, we will not tolerate inappropriate remarks about CK. We will not use language that is not suitable for this situation, nor is deserved. Do I think it's a bad move? Yes, but I'm a Bama fan.

One has taken a seat, let's not have anyone else take a TO.

Right with you. Yeah it stings, especially that Auburn got him, but I've moved on (right after I said "What?!?", I said "Oh well..."). I just keep things in perspective. Also, remember how many times a sure-thing five star has not panned out, but a three star goes on and does something crazy like, oh, I don't know, wins the Heisman (Mark Ingram was a 3 star, right?).
