Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Why did CK choose Auburn?
Maybe he:
* didn't want to compete against his big brother.
* saw an opportunity to form a jaw-dropping OL with AU's other freshmen recruits.
* listened to the "AU Family" pitch and liked it.
* was exposed to some tough and effective recruiters and fell under their spell.

I don't think he was under the influence of drugs, fell for some "bad girl' charms, or rebelled against his parents. The above are plausible and perhaps were the most important factors that he considered. Might we grant him a little competency in all this?

I am really feeling sorry for the big fella right now and hope he goes where he wants to go. And nowhere else. RTR

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

The one thing I took from the article is the people on here that claimed Cyrus was a lock to UA seem to be right. Based on that article until last week it seemed everyone including the family had him slated for UA.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Well, we all know who Mom, Dad, and Sister are gonna vote for! IMO, just depends on how many other family members are gonna be in that vote!

I'm like you, that bodes very well for us I'd think. I would forgive him as I did Calloway. Sometimes we forget these are still kids (which Cyrus definitely is at 17)....

I think he's worried Saban could pit them against each other at LT and they'd rather play together. I'm sure Arie would move over to his right to knock him down with little bro beside me.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

I hope CK does what CK wants to do. A family vote, if true, isn't him making his own decision. Maybe I'm reading it wrong.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

I saw on sportsbybrooks that Cyrus' dad was quoted in saying he wanted him to go to bama! I sure hope he is coming to the realization he made a mistake and he wants to roll with the tide!!!:BigA:

I think Arie is now big enough to move inside to LG. I'm sure there won't be any fight between the two for LT

I really think he needs to do whats best for him if its the Barn then so be it.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

How ironic would it be that the Kouandjio family pick BAMA via family vote not love for the "Auburn Family" i.e. theme/joke see Cammy Cam one and done!!!

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

From the tidesports article.....

In the end, after the family has its say, the decision will rest with Cyrus Kouandjio, the father said.

Even though it mentions a family vote it looks like that might just be for guidance and a beginning point. Maybe Cyrus will see how hard this decision is on his family. The dad really wants his boys together. Maybe his dad's influence wil cause a switch tonight. Hope so!

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

They aren't doing anything of the kind. What a crappy and inaccurate title!

I agree. They're not giving a vote at all. It seems that they will all give their input, but the decision will ultimately come down to Cyrus.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

When do you guys think we will hear about which team it is?

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

I just cannot see why he cannot listen to HIS FAMILY, when he listened so much to his new "aubie family". OL is not a position that you really want to start from day 1. If Andre joins us today, he probably wouldn't have to start right away. Any upper class guidance will be very very important, and the guidance from your own brother who has been through a year of progress will help a lot. I can see he's a little black out and not really making his decisions the same way he said he would do. If he would follow his guts and not his brain, why all the recruiting process. From a career development stand point, I don't see any difference between Barn and us. He may start early at Barn, but he may be better coached with us. I hope he will make the decision to roll with us when he wakes up and clears all the aubie spells from his brain. If at that time, with clear mind, he's still showing overwhelming benefit of going to Aubie, so be it. The dream OL cr*p is not the best decision you make for YOURSELF.

Yea I agree with you, and I'm sure Arie has probably told him he would move so Cyrus could play LT. Even if CK came he could be in within 3 years if he didnt beat Douglas out because Douglas has two years left if he starts and maybe just one year if he plays well enough, then Cyrus is looking at being a RS-Freshman to RS-Sophomore when he starts. Carpenter earned his stripes in two years and will get drafted so I know Cyrus can do it.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

What I do find interesting is how Auburn preaches family but yet pulls kids that no one ever thought they could and with involving the kids family. Cyrus went there without family and his dad said he knew nothing about Auburn until last week. G Robinson the same way from LA and B Calloway. CNS recruits the players and the family. The Barn so family oriented recruits the player behind the families back. Sorry you getting players to commit without talking to the parents. That is just wrong. The same thing happened with S Region when all that crap started.

My impression of CGC and Co now is like the dirty old man in the park offering a child candy to go with into the woods. If he pulled thos crap with my child he would never walk again so I can understand why Cyrus's father is upset.
