I still think it's strange that Reggie Ragland would tweet that he knew where Winston was going....Oh well....Win some, lose some...Roll Tide..

This has shades of Tebows recruitment under Shula all over it. Of course we don't have Shula anymore!;) We all know how that one ended. Not saying this will end the same but until he "signs" in February it ain't done! Regardless, when did Fischer surpass Saban as a recruiter? ;) When you consider the talent already at Bama and the opportunity for early playing time at FSU, it could very well be the difference. Time will tell. The excitement at FSU is on high for now. I predicted them to beat Oklahoma back weeks ago, but I may just have to pull for Oklahoma if this pans out against us!;)

I could see a situation where he surprises everyone and commits to us tomorrow. Not gonna get my hopes up since the safe bet seems to be FSU, but I could see it.

I still say he ultimately ends up playing baseball, so where he commits has always been a moot point to me. That being the case, I'd rather let FSU deal with all the baseball drama/baggage that comes with JW from here on out and see us move on.

It is hard to imagine a lifelong Bama fan stepping up to the table and committing to anywhere other than Bama:( on TideFans.com There are still several hours for him to change his mind........some kids change their mind at the last second

Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't believe Winston is life long Bama fan as some assumed.

I would remind everyone that he hasnt commited anywhere yet. those are only predictions....save the meltdown for his announcement.
agree, but if he does verbally commit to FSU tomorrow, I truly hope there is no meltdown on this forum. lord knows we have spent enough time, energy, and widthband on this topic. most of us have embraced the possibility of JW going to FSU (I have since 4 months ago) and will not be shock.

if indeed he goes to the noles, wish him the best and move on. Bama has 2 elite QBs on our roster. the urgency to take a QB for this year's class is not there. but if we need to take a talented QB for 2012, Bama has some nice options.

no meltdowns for me. it will be just like any other hump day. :)

You are correct. Jameis Winston has been quoted as saying he grew up pulling for AU.

He has also been rumored to have told several friends that he is not going to Bama. The troubling part is that his father who is known to want Jameis to sign with FSU did not accompany the family along with grandma to the last visit to Bama. Most recruiting sites are saying they expect Winton to commit to FSU tomorrow.

Having said all that, I will say that Winston's mother and grandmother have said publically that they want him to commit and sign with Bama. However Winston's mother has said that the decision is for Jameis to make and the family will not force his decision one way or the other. I also want to add even though it certainly appears like FSU is the heavy favorite to be Winston's choice tomorrow anything can happen or change at the last minute in recruiting. My heart tells me that Bama is not out of it just yet but my head tells me to expect disappointment when Winston announces the school of his choice.

Regarding him and ragland tweeting I would say the latest are not indictative of being in our favor. Ragland seems to be unhappy that JW is now making a big deal about announcing on ESPNU and said something to JW.

If I was reading between the lines it looks as if JW is picking FSU and that Ragland is not happy that JW is making such a huge deal about it, but wanted it to be simple and respectful.

If this turns out to be a circus i could care less and just hope everyone moves on.

Would like to head off the meltdown... if that indeed happens. Realize that whoever wins the QB battle this fall will be leading our team for the next three years most likely (barring injury). Certainly, with the 25-signee rule being enacted, taking a guy who is at best a 50-50 shot to stick w/ football is a gamble... especially in light of not really "needing" a blue-chipper this year. For those who wanted him solely for the ratings affect, I don't know if Bama will ever win a NC in recruiting again with the new restrictions. IF we miss out on all top-rated guys the next two years, then by all means melt down... but don't melt on a guy like JW who may not even step on a CFB field in his life.

My god, man, this is a fan board. How dare you offer perspective?

I still feel like we need a very good QB this class. We are 1 injury + 1 transfer from P. Ely starting next year. I'm sure he is a good kid but that doesn't give me the warm fuzzies.
