Just listening to Rush on the radio, apparently this was basically an open secret for a long time. Even the local creamery, with a hundred items on the menu, had a "Sandusky", a rather suggestively arranged upside down cone with 2 scoops. Makes you wonder, why now and not 10 years ago?

I am taking the release the anger approach by dealing with it head on. I hope nobody's feelings are hurt in the process. I will be self medicating with a little boubon later. ;)

From what i have heard/read no it hasn't. And it is kinda helping to fuel the fires of speculation, why would a very good DC whom some had pegged as Joe Pa's successor just up and retire and not be heard from again? There are many dots that could be connected in light of the timelines and accusations here.

Now that is really logic that I can not follow. Maybe you have heard PSU tried to get Paterno to retire some years back and he threw them out of his house. I kid you not. I think he wanted to die on the PSU sideline.

Seriously, Coach Bowden and Coach Bryant really should not be discussed in any context in this thread.

EDIT: p.s. Unless it is about them kicking Sandusky's rear end severely. ;)

Ok, I think you really have to be careful there. There is a big difference between someone being an open homosexual and it being known he was a child molester. The two ice cream scoops with a cone upside down on top may be suggestive of one thing, but not the other.

The question is was he known sexual deviant? That question is beginning to look to be the case. There is a feeling that a lot of former players and donors felt he was.

I would guess he had a stigma on him in the coaching circles though i would hazard to say most did not know the exact nature of what happened just that he was unhirable in any sort of coaching capacity. I find it hard to beilieve that 119 D1 coaches and staff knew along with PSU and no one blew a whistle.

IMO Coach Bryant would have dealt with this with a righteous wrath akin to Gabriel with his flaming sword

Which narrows the list down to about one.

I'm not sure what it is I could be kidding about. It seems the local joke may have been that Sandusky while married had a thing for men on the side. That was supposedly well known around town and yes there is supposedly a local eatery that makes a "Sandusky" which is two scoops of ice cream with a cone sticking up on top between them. Yes, it represents exactly what you think it does.

My point was let's don't confuse every gay man for a child molester. That's all I was saying. Now that I think about it if he was married then he couldn't have been openly gay. I don't know, I don't and can't understand any of this. It's sick and hard to comprehend enough to process fully.

Just when you were sure this story would not get any more strange. Sorry I misunderstood your point but you are right. Just because someone is gay it does not make them a child molester.

However the description of the ice cream Sandusky was just too much for me to take seriously. I hope they don't serve that to kids. Seriously.
