Re: Former Penn St. DC Jerry Sandusky arrested for numerous sexual assaults of minors

but since '99 (around the time od the first accusations and his retirement) nobody has expressed any interest.. I think BIB has a legitimate point/concern.

I'd assume there were some rumblings, no doubt. As it's been said, 55 is pretty young for a coach to "retire".

Re: I am the only one for doesn't believe Joe Pa is an outstanding coach.

Houston Nutt has removed himself from consideration for this job.

Re: Penn State Officials Reportedly Planning Paterno's Exit

Just when you were sure this story would not get any more strange. Sorry I misunderstood your point but you are right. Just because someone is gay it does not make them a child molester.

However the description of the ice cream Sandusky was just too much for me to take seriously. I hope they don't serve that to kids. Seriously.

I agree 100%! This is one of the most disturbing and bizzare things I've ever heard of.

Part of what makes this all so insane and hard to comprehend is that unlike places called Sri Lanka, Cambodia or Thialand the people involved here are not working in the shadows. They aren't learking in dark alley ways waiting to grab a child when no one is looking. This guy ran a foundation to gain access to these young boys and people brought them to him and dropped them off. People willing let this man have access to these children for extended peroids because they trusted him. He took them on overnight trips.

Little bit of a dark time for a joke, but i still got a laugh of that. :)

Its a horrible, horrible story. Just trying to lighten the mood a little. Usually what I do in situations like this.

Re: I am the only one for doesn't believe Joe Pa is an outstanding coach.

Now that is really logic that I can not follow. Maybe you have heard PSU tried to get Paterno to retire some years back and he threw them out of his house. I kid you not. I think he wanted to die on the PSU sideline.

Seriously, Coach Bowden and Coach Bryant really should not be discussed in any context in this thread.

EDIT: p.s. Unless it is about them kicking Sandusky's rear end severely. ;)

My reference was to the record. I have a good friend and alum/season ticket holder at PSU. Said the rumor for years was that they agreed to keep JoPa as HC so he could get the record. There were already rumors that he might retire after this season which happens to be the same season he would break the record. If you noticed during the game with UA when they had the camera on him he was not wearing headphones. Basically just sits there and gets called HC and it helps I guess with recruiting. Alot of PSU fans were happy the day he broke the record because most felt it would mean that he would announce his retirement at the end of the season. The only other concern they had at that point was trying to get his son because most fans felt he was shoving his into the HC position when he left.

So if FSU would have gotten rid of Bowden earlier JoPa would have broken the record a few years back and he would have already retired as most PSU fan believed. Still would have been a part of this.

He was ahead of Bowden when he retired - the record he just broke was Eddie Robinson's (408 wins). Bowden had nothing to do with that record.

Why does everyone keep blaming Coach Bowden?

Sandusky was not specifically named.

"The victim of the prank calls, according to several sources, is a retired member of the Penn State football family."

Which narrows the list down to about one.

Good Lord, the PSU Police protected Sandusky from phone harrassment and the 3 PSU players were suspended and fined. lol Why would PSU not name Sandusky? Why would they not say the nature of the harrassment? I tell you this is one very ugly situation that has apparently been ongoing for decades in plain sight of the PSU Admin, Police, Football Dept. Ice Cream Parlor, etc. This really is a dispicable conspiracy of cowards.

This district attorney who had “a bitter taste in his mouth for the [Penn State] program, and its coach,” according to his nephew, and yet never prosecuted Sandusky, disappeared on April 15, 2005, after telling his girlfriend that he was going on a drive.

Ray Gricar’s car was found the next day in a Lewisburg parking lot and his laptop, sans hard drive, was found in the Susquehanna River, according to the Patriot-News.

Ray Gricar’s friend, Montour County District Attorney Robert Buehner Jr., told the New York Times that if the ardent district attorney had committed suicide, he would have wanted his body found. But in the case of possible foul play, no suspects have emerged from investigations.

When it comes to the Sandusky case, friends and former co-workers are all of the opinion that Ray Gricar would never back down from a righteous prosecution.

Re: Former Penn St. DC Jerry Sandusky arrested for numerous sexual assaults of minors

Had Sandusky's name come up for many head coaching positions?

he interviewed for Pitt, Temple, and Uconn last December but didn't get any of those jobs. There was quite a fervor from Pitt fans to hire him since he's from PGH and has great PGH recruiting connections but it was also the exact same month, DEC 2010, that coaches were being called into the grand jury

Reportedly Paterno did know the details about the shower sexual assault of the boy - Read Below..

But on Friday, March 1, 2002, in an episode that those close to McQueary say left him shocked and confused — and that would return to haunt his life and the fortunes of his university years later — he entered the locker room in Penn State’s Lasch Football Building at about 9:30 p.m. to put a new pair of shoes in his locker and pick up some recruiting tapes, according to the report of the grand jury that investigated the allegations involving Sandusky. Coaches commonly keep late hours but not so much in the off-season months, like March. Besides, the lights were not on in the offices, but toward the locker room. That is not usual. And a shower was running.

According to the report, McQueary heard “rhythmic, slapping sounds,” which he believed to be those of sexual activity. He walked to his locker, opened it and put his sneakers inside. He then turned his head and looked into the shower.

He has said under oath that he saw Sandusky raping what appeared to be a 10-year-old boy. He immediately left, met with his father and determined he would report the incident to Paterno, according to prosecutors. A person familiar with his account said McQueary did not spare the details when he met with Paterno. Nor did he when he met with the university’s athletic director and another senior administrator, the man in charge of Penn State’s campus police.

Weeks later, according to state prosecutors, those officials told McQueary that Sandusky had been barred from bringing children onto campus.

Don't intend to be in poor taste but wouldn't surprise me if Paterno is living in 6 months.

A man his age and the shenigans of all this will drive him to his grave.

Sadly, ignorance from everyone outside of Sudusky will be the downfall of so many people associated with Penn State.
Sudusky will blast off to hell AS WELL DESERVED.

I pray for the young kids that was not protected from all who knew what was happening.

Re: Penn State Officials Reportedly Planning Paterno's Exit

It's important to understand that pedophilia and homosexuality have nothing to do with each other. Pedophilia isn't about being sexually attracted to a particular gender; it's about being attracted to a certain age of child. Most pedophiles don't have a solid adult sexual orientation, either homosexual or heterosexual. Those that do have adult sexual relations are actually more often to be bisexual rather then homosexual, but the most important thing is that their adult sexual relations are stunted, non-psychologically intimate, and never something they see as fulfilling in any way other than to allow them to hide their pedophilia better.

Pedophiles generally belong in one of two groups: Those that engage exclusively in sexual contact with children, often preferring one gender over the other, and those that engage in adult sexual relationships and intermittently abuse children (almost in a binge type pattern: abuse for a number of victims or over a period of time, then abstaining for varying lengths of time before relapsing back into the pedophilia).

None of this has anything to do with normal, adult, sexual orientation as most of us understand and define it. This has everything to do with a deep-seated sexual perversion that is untreatable, abhorrent, and all about power over, and obtaining sexual gratification from, a typically pre-pubescent child.
I'm not sure what it is I could be kidding about. It seems the local joke may have been that Sandusky while married had a thing for men on the side. That was supposedly well known around town and yes there is supposedly a local eatery that makes a "Sandusky" which is two scoops of ice cream with a cone sticking up on top between them. Yes, it represents exactly what you think it does.

My point was let's don't confuse every gay man for a child molester. That's all I was saying. Now that I think about it if he was married then he couldn't have been openly gay. I don't know, I don't and can't understand any of this. It's sick and hard to comprehend enough to process fully.

Re: Former Penn St. DC Jerry Sandusky arrested for 40 counts of sexual assaults of mi

That has to be the sickest most incredible story i have ever read. I just cringe at what happened. And i tell you if he truly did these things, he should be convicted to the fullest extent of the law and every person that didn't tell or covered it up should go down too. I have a son about the age of the boys were when they were abused and I gotta tell ya the parent instinct in me says let the parents loose on him!!! I just can't fathom that. But i tell ya i would hope someone would intervene on my sons behalf and stop it. not just go make a report to someone!! What in the world? I know im not in his position but dont you try to stop it and help the child if you see that going on?:eek2:
