Bama getting no respect

I get it, but last year with TCU and the voting this year demonstrates their goal of inclusiveness over getting the best 4 teams in.
I get the logic but I really don’t see how to keep Alabama out IF they beat the defending champions who haven’t lost in two seasons! That’s a big win and trumps anything the other one loss teams have done.

Texas beat Alabama. Head to head has to matter more than anything else in that spot.

I said one upset or both would happen. Neither happened. Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

1. Georgia
2. Ohio State
3. Michigan
4. FSU
5. Washington
6. Oregon
7. Texas
8. Alabama

Next week, Florida has a shot vs FSU, with Travis going down.

Ohio State and Michigan play, one goes down. If it's close though, don't look for the loser to drop below Bama.

Oregon will beat Oregon State.

Georgia will beat Georgia Tech.

Texas will beat Texas Tech.

Not looking for any chaos next week unless Florida can beat FSU.

We will likely go into the final weekend at #8. Have to beat Georgia anyway, then hope for some upsets, too many teams to jump. Plus our ceiling is Texas.

Sorry, I don’t bye that. We played them at the beginning of the season and have steadily improved. TX has not. UGA is the two time defending champions. If we beat them, we deserve the slot.

if games at the beginning of the season somehow don't count, then I wonder why everyone used to make such a big deal about Saban's record in September.

This committee is different than earlier ones. I think they'd take pride in having the last 4 team playoff not have an SEC team.

If the shoe were on the other foot you would be screaming that Alabama's head to head win had to trump everything else.

I never thought I would see the day when Alabama fans would lineup with "we didn't show up prepared to play the big game" as a legitimate excuse.

The Texas game in 2022 was on the road in the heat, but we showed up to sort of play.

If things stay the same at the end and the committee keeps ranking as they have and we beat UGA wouldn’t they have to make us 4. They should rank us ahead of UGA because of the head to head and that would have to make Bama the highest 1 lost team. So it should put Bama at 4. Not sure the committee could get away with keeping Bama out.

What is there to stop them?

Nothing. Lol But would definitely make a bold statement to fans saying”we are fake and biased so no point to care about legitimacy in college football “ probably push even more people to pro or stop watching all together.

I hear this argument all the time and people are missing the point when they say “if these games don’t count”. No one is saying they don’t count or you can just ignore them. We are simply saying you can’t JUST look at one game and make the decision based solely on that. There are so many other factors that have to come into play and you have to look at the entire season overall. There’s not a single team in this country that would have a resume as good as Bama’s if they win out, period.

Except this committee holds record and head to head over all else. Oregon won't jump Washington, we won't jump Texas. If Michigan loses to Ohio State, logic would dictate they drop below Bama because of how weak their schedule has been.....but don't count on that either.

If we beat Georgia and no chaos happens...I expect the rankings to end like this.
1. Ohio State
2. FSU
3. Oregon
4. Texas
5. Bama

We ultimately need FSU or Texas to lose.

This is not me wearing crimson colored glasses. This is about recognizing the reality that the SEC has dominated college football for multiple decades and to keep them out of the playoffs is a CRIME.

If we swapped schedules and records with UGA, and they beat us in the SEC title game, there’s not a single person on this board who would have a problem with them getting the #1 seed, much less making the playoffs.

You cannot keep the SEC champion out.

FSU is out with the injury to Travis no matter if they lose or not IMO. Major injury and weak resume.

You can if you're criteria is the Big 12 champion with the same record beat that SEC champ by 10 at home. The ACC and Big 10 champs are undefeated. And the Pac 12 champ avenged their only loss.

We'd be out and this committee would relish in it.

They won't keep an undefeated Power 5 conference champ out over a 1 loss Power 5 conference champ. If they don't lose, this committee will keep them in.

I look for Florida to really challenge them though without Travis. And Louisville to outright beat them. So hopefully its a moot point anyway.
