Bama Game Thread: CFP Selection Show details (12p-4p EST ESPN): Times, where to watch; Selection show 'game thread'

I predicted the committee would cave and sure enough, they did. They were under an unbelievable amount of pressure to do this.

I think they knew they were doing this immediately after the game last night.

They always rattle a bees hive and then go hide under a rock in a cave and face no consequences for their nebulous wording of what they are doing.

I get them not Putting Bama in and I’m not going to argue that part.

But they made it sound like SMU could drop below Bama and that IDLE teams wouldn’t drop in relation to each other.

So they lied twice

I mean just tell it straight

What Coach Saban is saying right now is so true. SMU should have never been 8. The problem is that the committee probably doesn't really factor in strength of schedule in the early rankings, and then gets stuck with this result. Instead, SMU and Indiana were just quietly rising in the polls and then it becomes too late to knock them down far enough.

Go on Nick, disrespect the committee! They're idiots and shouldn't ever be put in a position of responsibility. Nick is the only one making any sense of anything today. I like his last line. There were four better teams in the ACC, and SMU did not play one of them until last night. And they lost.
His other great point was you have to look at strength of schedule. If you look at that SMU would have never been ranked #8 to begin with.

This is the part that chaps me the most. The guy sat right there and stated in plain English that "if you're not playing this weekend, your position won't change."

I guess now we'll need to debate about what the word "won't" means.

That the way I feel about it. Why were they ranked that high to begin with? BYU has a better SOS , same record and beat them head to head. Why SMU?
