Somewhere out there tonight, Tommy Tuberville is sipping bourbon and counting his money with an big ear to ear grin on his face.:bigear:
A true sign of what a bad hire it was!The ISU fans are coming out of the woodwork to thank the Auburn fans for the hire, it's hilarious.
Jess, allow me to give you the name for your blog. The obvious difference between Lane Kiffin and Nick Saban, of course, is the man at the top. Kiffin isn't even in Saban's universe, and there is no evidence to suggest otherwise. There is hope, but there is no evidence.
Secondary to that is that the defensive coordinator at Alabama is, for all practical purposes, Saban, and the defensive coordinator is now Kirby Smart, not Steele -- although Smart and Steele both have big roles in calling coverages, etc. Comparing Saban to Monte Kiffin, I would take Saban, and I imagine at least half of whatever sample set you want to interview -- fans, coaches, whoever -- would agree.
So at this point, to say the UT staff is better or even has the chance to be better than Alabama's is nothing more than biased hopefulness on the part of UT fans, which is to be expected. But there are no facts to support the hope, at least not yet.
In regards to the Chizik hire, I'll blog it later tonight but here's a short preview: This is a major cluster on Auburn's part and the news couldn't be better from an Alabama standpoint.

"AUBURN JUMPS THE SHARK"
How do you like it???
Ditto! It's obvious to me why this hire was made--Gene Chizik can be controlled by the PTB at Auburn. This will become increasingly apparent as he hires his staff.
Now that is what I call LOYAL fans. Here's another link...after you read article, scroll down and read the barners comments...

Did McCarney go to MSU with Mullet?Does this mean that the last two Iowa State coaches are now coaching in the SEC West?
LOLIt will be nice to see Tubbs on ESPN next year commentating on the Auburn games.
Wish i could watch it.
Anyone able to hear it? My audio quality is bad. If so, could you post a transcript?

Very nice post. Although discounting Monte seems a bit "biased" on your part....The obvious difference between Lane Kiffin and Nick Saban, of course, is the man at the top. Kiffin isn't even in Saban's universe, and there is no evidence to suggest otherwise. There is hope, but there is no evidence.
