LSU offers Northview junior DL McCoy
Northview junior defensive tackle Denzel McCoy received a scholarship offer from LSU on Wednesday.

McCoy, who already has offers from programs such as Alabama, Duke, Georgia Tech, Memphis, North Carolina, N.C. State, Oregon, Penn State, Stanford, Vanderbilt and West Virginia, admitted to being interested in LSU because of former Northview teammate Cordian Hagans, a freshman defensive lineman for the Tigers.

McCoy, who has trips planned to Alabama and Vanderbilt, is scheduled to attend Clemson’s home game against Georgia Tech on Saturday. He’s trying to work a visit to LSU into his schedule.

Montana Making Name for Himself
The name has a familiar ring, epecially for a quarterback. But Nick Montana, the 6-2, 180-pound junior from Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian, is making a name for himself as a legitimate college prospect, with one offer from a Pac-10 school and plenty of interest from programs around the country...

“UCLA, Oregon, Arizona, a lot of Pac-10 schools, have been talking with me,” Montana said. “A bunch of people are thinking I’m stuck on Notre Dame, too, because my dad went there and my brother is going there right now, and I’m pretty interested in them. But there are a lot of SEC schools I’m interested in, like Alabama and Tennessee and Big 12 schools like Oklahoma and Texas.”

Rivals.com From the Road: 2010 Breaking them down
QB DYLAN FAVRE (5-10/170), Bay St. Louis (Miss.) St. Stanislaus
2010 PROSPECT
CONSIDERING: To be determined

PERFORMANCE: 267 yards passing with two touchdowns and four interceptions in a 68-34 loss to D'Iberville (Miss.) High.

STRENGTHS: The nephew of Brett Favre has inherited his uncle's strong arm and fiery competitive attitude. He also has good mobility and athleticism, and he shows high intensity by playing on both sides of the ball, often going against D'Iberville's top receiver.

WEAKNESSES: Favre's height and size will be a major concern for high-level programs. He does not have the physical tools that colleges want. He also plays much like his uncle in that he makes off-balance throws and throws into tight spots, often paying for it with interceptions.

I don't know the level of his interest in Alabama but his Scout.com profile does list Bama among his favorites. Maybe you could ask him how interested he is in Bama and vice versa the next time you talk to him?

Re: DE Craig Sanders Update: Sanders talks Tide

I hope you are right. I've seen video of him and he is an outstanding athlete. I've read he may be the top player in Alabama for the 2010 signing class.

Also, I read that he has connections to Florida and that he grew up a Florida fan. It seems they will be our main competition for him.

Is Alabama recruiting him to play Jack LB?

Thanks Surf, BT.

I know he plays in a smaller classification. But watching his film is like watching a big colt thunder around in a pasture by himself.

Re: DE Craig Sanders Update: Sanders talks Tide

He is 6'4", 230 and runs a 4.6. My guess would be that he plays DE, unless he gets a little faster, then he could move to Jack.

He probably will get faster.. but there is no reason he couldn't play Jack at those measurables.. Fanney isn't a 4.6 guy probably closer to 4.8. Plus he wont be playing a true DE position at 230.. no way.. at least not in Saban's D.

QB Terrance Broadway has put us at the top of his leaderboard after returning home from the Kentucky game. Great news!!

LSU has yet to put up much of a fight and he says he's a Southern University fan and has never really even followed LSU anyway. Also has an offer from Nebraska at this point. Great athlete!!
Got some inside on our other offer at QB, Phil Sims of Oscar Smith. Looks like he's coming so we might just get BOTH our top QB offers!
