That's absolutely not happeningOr Austin Mack could overtake Ty Simpson for #2 quarterback position. And that might actually happen.

Hence the improvement from game 4."If Deboer can find a way to simplify the game for Milroe I think we can win alot of games and have a shot at a NC."
Isn't this exactly what the 2023 Alabama team actually did?
Did you watch the spring game? Based on that TS is more likely to take over JM as #1 than AM is to take over TS at #2.
FWIW, I do think AM's ceiling is very high, but last spring he was very raw. This year he's the age of most true freshmen so he's got time to grow and mature.
I know Rees did that, but it was something else that the QB should be doing but Seth had to pick it up because Milroe wasn't capable.see post #546...basically took zone reads away and targeted one side of the field with passing routes
Yeah it's getting ridiculous.I feel like I’m being trolled at this point by the statement you quoted.
Ty was the best QB in the spring and at A-day yet he has virtually no shot at QB1 but is ripe for the picking by a guy who is still very raw at best.
Hogwash
In no way is that a legitimate or accurate line of thinking.
That’s gotta be bait.
My question was about Seth’s adjustments at the line, not Rees adjusting calls for Milroe.
Just being different than what he was responsible for the previous two years could’ve contributed to the issues. Can't be 100% sure because we never heard details, but typically the QB is responsible for calling out (at the line) D formation aspects like odd/even front, strong/weak side, any secondary players in 'different' alignments, and they very often make the call on protection, or at the very least make sure the C knows players are moving around and to make a call to slide the protection. I never heard the specifics, but multiple sportscasters and folks talking to the team mentioned that in conversations with the staff, that they were putting more on the C than usual.
How that causes snap issues, not sure, but just a guess is that it was more a timing thing that they couldn't sync. I'm guessing there were times where SM was barely finished making the calls (or maybe not completely finished) and JM clapped. Typically there's at least a pause for the C to set himself. Again, just a guess.
Yeah, but if he's trying to snap before he's ready, i.e. finished making all the calls at the line that he needs to, that could definitely throw him off.Just being different than what he was responsible for the previous two years could’ve contributed to the issues.
he’s still got to get the ball back in a reasonable fashion. Some of those snaps were beyond terrible.

Yea Ty is the CLEAR #2. I think people are too hard on Milroe at times but anyone with eyes can see Ty is miles better than Austin Mack at this point in their careers.I would be utterly shocked if Ty Simpson lost the #2 designation to anyone this season other than him being promoted to #1. But I think it's Milroe's to lose and I'm sure his leash is pretty long. So I expect Milroe to be the starter for the entirety, unless he just craps his pants for multiple games.

Tommy just tailored plays to his strengths. You talk as if Jalen is a idiot. He's not. Tell me, what play did Tommy simplify? Explain it to me.
That is what a lot of us saw all season, and it was no better in the last game than the first - and it was no better in the Spring game. Really have to hope that he has improved since. No way Kirby let's Milroe beat him again with these limitations.so don't take it from us. here's an article from an expert evaluator, who at one point was high on milroe, and still likes milroe, then looked past the noise and hype and realized he had to lower his eval/score pretty significantly. There's also a link to a X post in the article where the announcer illustrates EXACTLY what CTR had to do to take decisions out of JMs realm. It was way more than tailoring. It was a fundamental change how we used entire route concepts and took a lot of concepts completely out of the plan. It also debunks this idea that there was improvement as the year went on. There really wasn't.

It was hard enough watching it the first 3-4 times. I think I will take your word for it. After 60 + years of obsessing on Alabama Football I am trying hard to avoid ESPN and the media that can't contain itself about Milroe ( They have him as a top competitor for the Heisman). There are less stressful ways to spend my Saturdays!so don't take it from us. here's an article from an expert evaluator, who at one point was high on milroe, and still likes milroe, then looked past the noise and hype and realized he had to lower his eval/score pretty significantly.
