Maybe he needs to get out of South Carolina to get away from the tug of war between the two instate schools..Sorry to say it but I am really starting to believe that Clowney will stay in SC, either USC or Clemson. I hope I am wrong.

With all due respect, ETG, is your opinion not chicken spin? This is what I was told by someone pretty close to the mom. It's second hand information. But it tracks with what a growing number of people are now saying -- that Clemson has become a bigger player in this than either Alabama or South Carolina may have thought.
And say what you will about his coaching ability, Dabo has always been able to recruit.
I've often wondered the same thing about Clemson. They are almost always poorly coached haven't won a single important football game in over 29 years, yet they continue pulling in four and five-star recruits.
Few teams do less with more than the clemson tigers... but somehow they continue to land the recruits.
And say what you will about his coaching ability, Dabo has always been able to recruit.
Mark Richt and the dawgs beg to differ.
The Alabama class of 2012 is stout. CNS can stay in-state for a good portion of next year's clas.i can't wait for the 14th either.
i also hope you guys stay out of the state of south carolina for 2012.
Saban has already come to see ATH Shaq Roland (heavy Gamecock lean) who is the #1 player in the state. Overall though, not that strong of a class so not sure who else you guys were interested in. Couple OL should be 4* players in Jeverous Leamon and Patrick DeStefano. WR Quinshad Davis is probably #2 overall player in the state and a 4*, Looks to be an in-state battle and possibly UGA if they offer. Overall though the 2011 class looks a lot stronger than 2012 in the state.

I wish Feb. 14th would hurry up so JC can sign with USC and you 'cacks can stop stroking your manes on our board![]()

Beg to differ. UGA belongs in the conversation, but under Richt they've been to 3 BCS bowl games, won their Division 4 times, and had six 10+ win seasons. In same span clemson has accomplished any one of those three a whopping ZERO times.
Clemson won their division two years ago. Just sayin.
Please let the 14th get here quickly. Also none i repeat none has come out of Clowneys mouth.TravHaney Travis Haney
As for Clowney, sounds like it's a 2-horse race between Clemson and South Carolina. Tigers could get another visit, too? It's getting good.
Travis Haney (The Charleston, S.C. Post and Courier's Gamecocks beat reporter.) just made that comment on Twitter. Has Bama really fallen completely out of the picture now? Hard to believe considering it was supposedly down to just us and USCe for awhile now. Clemson coming in strong out of nowhere in this race suddenly.
Clemson is now a serious player now, surprising. I'll be shocked in Clowney goes anywhere besides SC, but this recruiting season has just been crazy. So who knows what's going to happen here. I've got a feeling recruiting is just going to get crazier & crazier in the future.
