Asked to SIT DOWN!!!!

and maybe someday the rest of the buttploppers that take up more than half the the stadium will find some energy-or at least respect those of us that have some.

I seem to remember many games that the entire stadium was standing for the entire game (MSU 99, Florida 04 and many more) so I think the buttploppers have plenty of energy but they choose when to use it.
As far as respecting you and your choice to stand??????
Why should they

when you call them names and don’t respect their choice to sit and yell.

probably not many more games --those were awesome games partly because everyone was so into it. I didn't mean to come across as disrespectable and horrible as i obviously have.....my sister and i LOVE bama football, love to go to the games, and we like to be able to stand up when we are excited. i did not like being told to sit down at a college football game. the difference is i think i have showed a little respect because i didn't turn around and tell him to stand up..i actually controlled myself and made myself sit for alot of the game when otherwise i would have been standing. when what i really want to do is yell at everyone to get up!

Wear either shorter shorts or tighter jeans. He probably won't mind if you stand then. Just doing what I can to help your situation, of course.;)

One thing's for certain, a fan that stands the whole game doesn't make them a better fan as "The loudest voice is not always the one that should be heard";
the drunkard being a good example. With that being said, those able to stand should respect those with reasons for not standing, and sit down a majority of the game. Every paying patron that can see, should be able to enjoy the game from their seat. Having to take your seat during a majority of the game does not make for a bad game day experience, having your view blocked by Bertha butt does.:cool:

Sitting down and being able to see the field is not a option for everyone. For instance the people who seat in rows 1 and 2 behind the team, usually have to stand because the team is standing and often stand on the benches on the field. So if the people in rows 1 and 2 are standing, those of us in rows 3 and 4 have to stand in order to see the field and this continues on up the section.

Even if you can see the field sitting down, you should be able to stand and cheer without being harrassed or made to feel like you are inconveniencing someone. I don't agree with the "if you don't want to stand, you should stay at home" way of thinking. If you want to sit and cheer, do that, but don't think that you have the right to censor how others choose to enjoy the game. Everyone paid the price of admission, and as long as you are not violating the University's policies regarding behavior in the stadium, you should not be reprimanded as if you were acting up in a classroom.

With 3 jumbrotrons, everyone ought to be able to see the game, whether sitting or standing.

Attending an Bama football game is not a right; it's a priviledge.

Well put. However, I do agree with "if you don't want to stand, you should stay at home." That's what Lazy-Boys and televisions are for. If you are worried about comfort and inability to stand, but want to see the game: stay at home and watch it on television. If you are worried about comfort and inability to stand, and DON'T want to see the game: come to the stadium and sit behind me. I wish our fans cheered as wholeheartedly as the Raider fans do in Oakland. Instead, BDS often looks like Turner field in mid June.

I especially like the fans who, regardless of sitting or standing, cheer loudly when we're on offense and sit quietly when on "D." Better yet, the ones who put more energy into the wave then when the opposing offnese is on our 15 yard line. Maybe that's for another thread.:biggrin2:
