Bama Players Transferring (catch all thread)

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

There’s a balance in this somewhere.

There probably is though it won’t even be possible without creating some restrictions to the Portal and NIL coupled with Coaches who draw a line somewhere in the sand.

Right now petulant children are running the show and the adults are letting them.

It’s also unveiled that everyone is when you get down to it willing to win at all costs.

It was a business decision.
- Enter portal
- Get more money from Alabama (your employer)
- Leave portal

It is not unusual in the business world to interview for other positions and then ask your company to match an offer.
No not at all. I’m currently going through this in my career actually. My point with Jalen was he already knew the money and offer to play both ways, he could have went to the Bama coaches for the counter without actually entering the portal. I’m sure they would have taken him seriously in this current climate.

I know many of us have gave CKD a hard time for not being more "old school" with his approach with the players and team but this post here gives some insight as to why that may not necessarily work anymore. Players have all the leverage now. They dictate if they come or go, they dictate their position, etc. The coaches who will thrive, as long as the rules are allowing this type of behavior, are the coaches who can find a happy medium between empowering the players and holding them accountable to doing the things that win. As I've said before, it is an interesting time to be coaching football. To those of you who want to burn every bridge to every player who acts this way, good luck with winning with The Little Giants rolling out onto the grass come next season. To those of you who want to bow down to every demand every player has, good luck winning with an undisciplined and unmotivated group of players next fall. There are very few truths in life, mostly just our perspectives...and a lot of gray area!
I detest that this is one on-point post.
🤷‍♂️

All I have concluded from the transfer portal is: "He's in! He's out! He's in! He's out!
You put your left name in…
You pull your right name right out…
You put your left name in, and you shake it all about…
You do the “Portal-Pokey” and turn your fan-base inside out…
That‘s what it‘s all about

Lane as far was we know. We will probably never know the full details which is why I am not judging him. He was tampered with and turned down an offer big enough to leave your dream school.

And never officially entered the portal fwiw.

My question is how can you even verify they have these offers. I guess you have to just evaluate whether they're worth what they're saying.... But there i worry about the kids in these situations too.
For instance if Auburn or Lane floated an offer to just get an extra million off our books to prevent it from going somewhere else. UNLV situation proves that these kids are told things that don't come to fruition, plus these agents tell them things just to try and get a quick buck... Some enter the portal and don't come out lol

Plus now there's talk about mbakwe playing both sides of the ball, which is just insane to me. I don't know if he used to do this, but... Wow

Me too. And he did seem to be a Bama guy. Idk we'll see.

Idk where the original leak about transferring came from. But the staff on on3 were saying he was likely to transfer

The idea he might stay is coming from guys like Ryan Williams and Keelon Russell. They have posted stuff on social media that makes it seem like he might be staying after all. We will see 🤷‍♂️
They probably had a talk with him
