There's no panic that I see and we are quite aware how the hiring situation is. The only reason for critique of the current situation is that Saban is reportedly upset about Banks. Therefore, since he does not usually take these things personally but encourages upward movement, a line has likely been crossed. That is one criticism or expression of disappointment. As well some, including me, express regret that Banks is not a good recruiter but a great one who has given Bama great access to the Texas goldmine. That is probably going to be much harder now.All this panic reminds me of myself the first time Bama went through this process. Here’s my take, now though. Sark is the new head coach at Texas. His focus is in building the best program he can at Texas. To do that, he is going to hire the best staff he can. His primary concern is not how upset Nick Saban gets. I do not like that our coaches are leaving, but this happens every few years to Bama. Saban will hire new guys to fit his system/process, Bama will keep recruiting at the highest level, and winning at the highest level. The “next man up” mentality does not apply only to the players, it applies to coaches also. These top notch recruiters we are losing are top notch, in part, because of the program they are recruiting to.
Again - at least for most - no panic, just a little disappointment, a little whining and complaining. At least some of which is justified.
We are not even complaining that some are ostriches, we are/were happy for Sarkisian and understand Flood, just let us comment on the "coaching movement" without having to defend against the straw men (panic) and the indefensible
