All this panic reminds me of myself the first time Bama went through this process. Here’s my take, now though. Sark is the new head coach at Texas. His focus is in building the best program he can at Texas. To do that, he is going to hire the best staff he can. His primary concern is not how upset Nick Saban gets. I do not like that our coaches are leaving, but this happens every few years to Bama. Saban will hire new guys to fit his system/process, Bama will keep recruiting at the highest level, and winning at the highest level. The “next man up” mentality does not apply only to the players, it applies to coaches also. These top notch recruiters we are losing are top notch, in part, because of the program they are recruiting to.
There's no panic that I see and we are quite aware how the hiring situation is. The only reason for critique of the current situation is that Saban is reportedly upset about Banks. Therefore, since he does not usually take these things personally but encourages upward movement, a line has likely been crossed. That is one criticism or expression of disappointment. As well some, including me, express regret that Banks is not a good recruiter but a great one who has given Bama great access to the Texas goldmine. That is probably going to be much harder now.

Again - at least for most - no panic, just a little disappointment, a little whining and complaining. At least some of which is justified.

We are not even complaining that some are ostriches, we are/were happy for Sarkisian and understand Flood, just let us comment on the "coaching movement" without having to defend against the straw men (panic) and the indefensible :). Everything is not all or nothing. We know what is going on - I think .

I reckon the Golding haters could get their wish. I've been bi-polar on him. We all have to an extent, I guess.
My intel is Sark wooed him by telling him Richard Linklater was gonna do a remake of "American Graffiti" shot in Austin and he (Sark) could get him (Gone-ding) the Richard Dreyfus role.

If Sark really is poaching, he might want to remember he's got a home-and-home against his old boss pretty soon....
Considering Saban helped him not once but twice, I’d hope he was above doing that......... but you never know. I guess we can wait and see what Saban says about it before we will know. Biting the hand that fed you is never a good thing

The word in Atlanta on Dukes and Bell was that Sark asked Nick to take some coaches and Nick said OK , let me know who? Sark came back with a list of almost all and Nick wasn’t happy! so Sark shortened the list ! Karl Dukes is a Texas grad with some insiders in the program !

Yeah I was listening to them too and heard this. Doesn't really surprise me if it happened like this.

Geez. That's like a parent telling the kid they can have a toy and the kid coming back with an armful of Xbox games.

Come on, Sark.

Haven’t seen this anywhere and I don’t think anyone mentioned it here but what about Freddie kitchens for te/sp coach? He’s obviously a very capable nfl te’s coach and was a GA for Saban in 2000 at lsu. He doesn’t have any special teams experience but I think Freddie could do a good job with it here. If Cochran can jump in and do it at Georgia I’m positive a coach with Freddie’s track record could too.

Freddie might wind up with a job in some capacity

I'm not blaming Sark unless / until we know he is poaching. For all we know he has really great working relationship with these guys and they see it as an opportunity to work under another genius.

IOW, let's not blame Sark or call him dishonorable until we know that's the case.
With you on this it could be simple as he came to him and said he wanted to continue to learn under him. Some people feel some type of way if you are suppose to be their friend and don't offer them a job.

It seems nobody wants to build their own program anymore. They want to come in steal the secret sauce and the cools too. Sad part is that CNS gas seen this over and over. He will snatch somebody back.

Look at ole Butch he probably has already had several plucked from his staff and he has been there a month yet.
