Dean looking good in Red (soon to be Crimson)

In the video CS posted, he reminds me of a cross between Bobby Humphrey and Kerry Goode. Bobby's speed and quickness blended with Kerry's strength, power and "tank-like" mentality. Overall, wow. I want him to come to the Capstone.

Dang, that is some compliment for Dean. I think he is good but I didn't think he was Humphrey/Goode good. lol

The good thing about Dean and Katy HS, is its a blue collar school. It is a system, but I've known some great athletes that didn't make it through Katy because they weren't willing to work and do the things the coaches asked. Dean is a stud, but he wouldn't be playing if he wasn't doing what the coaches asked.

I think because of that, he will have a tremendous work ethic and sense of team v. sense of self. Katy is all about team...its a special place as far as football goes.

Those teams he's playing are not "push overs.":D I was just comparing styles, who knows how good he will be down the road. IMO, he seems to have the tools and talent. With the right coach, he could be something special.

He sounds like a fine young man. We need more of those.

Three things I find so impressive in his video:

1. His power - running over people and stiff arming.

2. Presence of mind and athletic ability to put his arm down to regain balance.

3. Vision to make people miss and to set up blockers.

This guy is the real deal. We need him in T-Town.

Re: Aundre Dean - Best Texas RB

Any link to article where we are listed as one of the final three? This is awesome news. I hope we get him.

Mash here to read a good article on his teams recent record setting performance in their state semifinals.

Dean rushed for 134 yards in the third quarter alone as the Tigers turned a 28-14 game into a 56-14 thrashing with four touchdowns in a stunning six minute, 55 second span.

“When they jam up on the line, we kill them with the play action,” said Dean, who finished with 179 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries."

Wow - this guy looks really good; He made some very athletic moves maintaining his balance on some of those runs, and seems to relish contact. Would love to have him at Bama in Crimson.

Watch the video associated with the article...its all about team. Trent Hunter, the CB is also special. He was actually nominated the best defensive player in Houston. I wish he and Dean would come to Bama...heck, I'd love for about 10 of those kids to go to Bama. They understand what it takes to win. TEAM!

Katy has at least four players going to D1 schools:

Bo Levi Mitchell - QB - Hawaii
Aundre Dean - RB - Hopefully Bama
Trent Hunter - CB - A&M
Ryan Doerr - K - South Carolina

I'm sure there will be a few more that get looks from D1 schools and get offers from 1-AA or D2/D3 schools.
