I hope there’s someone in this young fella’s camp who can keep him humble and keep his feet on the floor. It’d be real easy, doing what he’s doing, to get the big head and get cocky and cause problems.
From the outside he seems like a single minded kind of competitor. We'll see but I don't think he'll have that problem.

I don’t know him, just see what I see. Been too many exceptional ball players who can’t handle the success and fame and money.

No excuse for this, I don’t care what type of offense we run. This is pure coaching and not very smart IMO. Once or twice then maybe it was a mistake by Milroe but it was almost every single down.

One way to run clock is to not snap the ball with 18-20 seconds on the play clock.
Yep, that was a coaching issue. I understand not getting down to 2-3 seconds every play so the defense doesn’t jump the snap, but at least get it below 10 seconds the entire second half. We could’ve milked at least 3-4 minutes off the clock by doing that one thing.

Heck of a game.

Few things I've noticed from last night game but I'll try not to repeat same thing that most of us are saying.

First half v.s. Second half offense: day and night. We were super aggressive and we had them where we wanted them. I don't understand why we went with conservative playcalling in second half. You can't do that against teams like Georgia. I hope Deober and OC learned their lesson.
They definitely opened up the playbook and I think going forward, we will be okay.

Ryan Williams is unreal!
Jalen Milroe: say what you want but he's a QB and after last night, he's definitely gonna be top three NFL QB prospect. He's continuing to show everyone he's improving and getting better each week. He's not the same quarterback he was last year. Immediate throws were there last night.

Use of the running backs: I wouldn't worry about them. Take what defense gives to you and go with it. I expect us to run a lot next week.

Defense. They were aggressive I'm first half and I think they just tired in 2nd half because offense didn't help with conservative playcalling. One thing I'll say this: we shouldn't be this tired with the depth we have. That's something to monitor going forward.

They targeted Brown ten times!!!! He will be a better player at the end of the year. Just be patience with him. You can tell he finally learned by turning and grabbed interception at the end of the game.

I see issues with DL and it'll be a continued problems throughout the season. It is what it is at this point but we can manage it.

This game should've been 50-20.... But hey take the W.

Or just flipped to the short passing game. They were not going after Milroe. He would have picked them apart. But DeBoer wanted to run clock, so he ran into the teeth of a great defense.
That's something he'll learn from this. Keep foot on pedal going forward until he's sure the game is over which is in late third quarter, not at the beginning of third quarter.

I don't know CKD allowed taking the foot off the gas. I do know Georgia made really good halftime adjustments, and we apparently didn't. Georgia won the halftime chess match. And they played ball control, not giving us many chances to do much. But we still found a way to win.
They were able to match down the field because of 4th down situation.

That 6 minute drive by UGA in the 3rd was a double edge sword. 1. It took their time off the clock, 2. It gassed us on defense. I don't know if you've ever done it, but that's equivalent to running uphill for 6 minutes when you are against a tempo offense.
On that drive UGA went for it on 4th down 3 different times. At their 29 yard line, at their 37 yard line, and at their 46 yard line. All 3 plays resulted in a 1st down.

High risk, high reward.

If Bama stops them even once or twice out of the 7 times UGA went for it on 4th down, the game isn’t very close. 5 times UGA converted. Twice Bama penalties lead to first downs. Pretty lucky. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Beck gets rid of the ball as fast as any qb in college football. It’s hard to pressure him.
And yet we got to him 3 times for losses.

We pressured him the first half, we backed off in the second half inviting them to run the ball and run short routes to condense the clock.

It would have worked too except the offense went too conservative too early. Watching in real time, we went completely away from presnap motions and alignment shifts on offense and went with the 3 verts and a crosser that has been the essence of our boom/bust offense to this point in the year.

Honestly think that kdb and staff know that this may not be the only time we play UGA this year and put a lot of stuff back in the bag for the second half.

The mistake was thinking you can do that with an honest to God championship caliber team. And the stuff we went to in the second half reminded me a lot of what we have put on tape this year up to this game.

We shook em, got conservative and played into the strengths and prep of their defense
