The barner boards are ablaze .

Even if Willis had signed an employment contract, he could break the contract and leave for Alabama by coming up with money to pay for breaking the contract. To hire him, Alabama would pay the money on his behalf to Auburn. Considering the $5.1 million buyout of Tubberville in December, Auburn could use the money.

So I don't understand why it matters "who employed him when".

Those pathetic waste of skin and bones now have a thread questioning the financial stability of Willis. What a sad sad bunch. That "class" they talk so much about sure is showing right now. To top it off you should check out some of the racist garbage that they are saying on their political board. They are really some sad and pathetic animals.

One thing that everyone needs to do is step back and realize - the coaching profesion is a business. When Brother Oliver went to the barn, he did what he could to make them successful, but don't think for a minute that he changed his heart - he was and will always be a Bama man. And remember this - Coach Saban is our HC and will work his heart out trying to make Bama successful, but in his heart, he is not a Bama man. Just because Willis is a coach for us now - deep down he is still an Auburn man.
...
That is what gets me about people talking about this coach or that coach being a "mercenary." ALL coaches are mercenaries. They will coach where they can benefit the most personally. Does that make them evil? Of course not - their profession is a business. That is very difficult for Joe Fan of any school to come to terms with. Their HC does not bleed the team colors like they do.
Excellent post!

We all see how shabby it looks for the Barners to be spouting such venom about Coach Willis. And no one on this site wrote any cross words when CLT left...

Here's a radical thought... Given that we're going to have coaches leave, why not simply (a) mentally prepare ourselves for the inevitable; and (b) when it happens, wish them well in their new jobs and have fun speculating on who their replacements will be. Fan vitriol directed at coaches who are moving elsewhere won't change the facts-on-the-ground. But it sure can make the fan base look bad. Vol fans did it when Trooper Taylor left 'em. When CLT left, some folks... er.. never mind. And Auburn fans are demonstrating over-the-top bad behavior re Coach Willis.

As someone noted on this thread, would a coach really want to jump into the Auburn tank, given the demonstrated fan reaction when they inevitably leave?

When the next coach leaves Bama, I'm hoping we can wish him (or her) well and show that we're big enough to take it in stride.

End of rant.

That fan base has the best sources. So many so close to Awbarn and the NCAA. That is truly amazing. That boarders on the liable side of truth.

I would love to find this prophet of college sports. So many sources, so much insider info they would actually tell the guy who bags your food at the local Piggly Wiggly. :)

At this point, the only coach leaving that would upset me a bunch would be Coach Saban himself. I think he's at a level of coaching rep that he can about cherry pick any position coach he needs. Crimsonaudio is correct. The Bama Nation needs to get used to the fact that we'll be losing some good coaches along the way, for good reasons, mostly. Biness is biness.

:BigA: The CEO of the Bama Nation is CNS and he gets paid very well to make all the right decisions and he does that very very well!:BigA:

Oh, this can't be good when kickers start bailing.
The poor Auburn folk. Things were looking a little less cloudy for them for a few days there, and then ... :PDT_velo:

I hope their holder is next :)

Some Bama fan (who was actually allowed to post) tried to have a rational conversation with Mark Greene in this thread. Of course he was beating his head up against a rubber wall. I swear, this tool is so eat up with hatred and paranoia, he really needs some serious help.

His post @ 6:24 should easily be enough to qualify for a freshly padded room .

Funniest thing I have read today, and that's saying something:

UPDATE 1:58PM: Aubie is now a soft commit to be our mascot next year.

Now that is good. At least they can make fun of themselves...well, some of them anyways

Reading that barner board is great. I bet there are more Barners wearing tin foil hats than anywhere in America.

The LSU fans have started piling on too:
this freefall is downright pathetic. i defended auburn when saban was hired. i said there AU had gotten too good to just let saban walk all over them. well, it's happening. despite tubbs firing and the 36-0 beatdown, it looked like AU was gaining some ground recently with Chizik's suprisingly good staff hires. turns out the coach who knows the most about Mobile who also happens to be an AU grad decides working in Tuscaloosa is a better option. it pains me greatly to see the auburn family turn around and let lord saban ram it up [explicit content]. get it together war tigers.
So, ironically, Auburn is the first team to get Chizzed!!!????
Auburn is friggen pathetic w/ what they've allowed bama to do to them
