Trump Attacks Iran, II

Donald Trump knows more about Japan and its people than anyone, and screw WW2 , Donald Trump knows more about WW3 than anyone, being that he started it.

And if you need evidence of any of that, just ask him
He’s trying his hardest to start WW3.

I guess I should just be grateful he didn’t insult the language and say he doesn’t care about it or have time to learn it.

He’d be right seeing he has such a low tolerance for Spanish which is the easiest language for a native English speaker to learn and Japanese is one of the Top 2 most difficult.

Excuse me though I made an error.

Trump and his Admin don’t even speak English they speak ‘American’.

Morons.

i was thinking with the amount of $ that was spent on the f 35 they would have figured out a way to address that
I don't think there's any way to really hide the heat signature, you just typically hope to operate at high engouh of an altitude that HSMs aren't effective. The F35 (along with the F22 and B2) all minimize it as much as possible but it's not currently possible to compledtely hide it, as far as I've read.

It’s starting to look like this hunch was correct and that the IRGC, in a desperate attempt to set the region on fire and rally jihadists behind them, is trying to blow up the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount. This cluster munition flew directly over Al-Aqsa and landed just 200 meters away. This shell would have destroyed the domes. This seems to be their plan. It is the only possibile reason they are repeatedly targeting the Old City of Jerusalem. There are no military targets there, and most of the population is Muslim.

Both the Shi'a and the Sunni regard it as the 3rd holiest site in Islam, being where Muhammad ascended to heaven, etc. That said, the Shi'a do not venerate the building itself emotionally to the degree Sunni do. The mosque was built by the Umayyads, who are hated by the Shi'at Ali as the murderers of the grandson of Muhammad. As the destruction of the building itself probably wouldn't destroy the holy rock it houses, they might not have the same inhibitions about its destruction the Sunni would. IOW, he may be on to something...

The factoid about the Japanese language played an important part in WWII. They passionately believed that JN-25 code was unbreakable, in large part because of the intricacy of the Japanese language. They simply refused to believe it, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. We sent P-38s to a rendezvous with a "Betty" bomber over Bougainville Island and shot it and its wingman down over Japanese-held territory. Why? Because one of the bombers contained Admiral Yamamoto, architect of Pearl Harbor. There was only one glaring reason for that audacious attack and it was argued against out of the fear that the Japanese would immediately understand that we could have only known by breaking their code. However, the resistance to that acceptance was so great, the reason they assigned was espionage and several people lost their lives because they knew of the trip and scarce additional evidence against them...

I didn’t know that and it’s interesting to me.

I’d say that’s due to good old Human Hubris from the Japanese people at the time.

I’d also say the Japanese language is super complicated but simultaneously simple.

I have no doubt a highly intelligent code cracker could figure it out for intel purposes and especially if they had a Chinese or Japanese American help them figure out the Kanji meanings.

I could have also easily said before that English is a Top 2 most difficult language for a Japanese native to learn and it’s because of the differing Sentence Structures and Grammar rules.

To get just a bit in the weeds.

English is a Subject-Verb-Object (SVO) language while Japanese is a Subject-Object-Verb (SOV) language so they flow very differently.

Japanese also has a lot of Grammar particles that connect those different parts like connecting Lego blocks and sometimes they use them all and sometimes they omit but the sentence says and means the same thing.

So in English we would maybe say to a person..

“Today I went to the park and gave bread to the birds and now I’m happy.”

In Japanese with grammar particles in brackets that would be:

今日(は) 公園(に)行っ(て) 鳥(に) パン(を) あげました。おかげ(で) 今(は) 幸せな気分 です。

Phonetically

Kyou (wa) kouen (ni) it(te) tori (ni) pan (o) agemashita. Okage (de) ima (wa) shiawasena kibun desu.

What that would literally come to in English is

Today (Topic we are talking about) park (destination) went to (and) birds (direction) bread (object) gave. Because of this action (due to this) Right now (topic change or contrast) I self feeling good person am.

A more natural translation would be.

Today I went to the park and gave bread to the birds and because of this I am feeling happy inside.

So they are just structured so completely differently even though it’s conveying the same thing.

It sounds just as weird and crazy to a Japanese person trying to make sense of English.

But for me what I’ve learned is that Humans are all the same. We talk about the same things and care about the same things in the same ways no matter the difference in language.

No language is superior to another and no country or its people are superior to any other county or it’s people.

It’s why it’s so insulting for Trump and people in his admin to act like Spanish or any other language would be beneath them and not worth the effort or time sink to learn.

They have a superiority complex and look down on others.

Trump to me isn’t patient enough or even possibly intelligent enough to learn another language. He can barely form English sentences that make sense.

He’s more preoccupied with grabbing low hanging fruit to take digs at people anyway.

Anyway sorry to side track things it just really gets under my skin how he speaks to non-Americans.

Trump Says US Considers ‘Winding Down’ Iran Military Effort - Bloomberg

President Donald Trump said he was considering “winding down” US military efforts against Iran, saying that the US was close to achieving its objectives as the conflict, which has roiled financial markets and the region, nears a fourth week.
“We are getting very close to meeting our objectives as we consider winding down our great Military efforts in the Middle East,” Trump said in a social-media post on Friday. He cast those objectives as “Completely degrading” Iran’s missile capabilities, “destroying” the country’s defense industrial base, eliminating their navy and air force, never allowing Tehran to get close to a “Nuclear Capability” and protecting Middle Eastern allies.

Vietnamese worker at my last job:
I sorry, my English not good.

Me:
Well your English is better than my Vietnamese and you’re trying. If we have to get a coworker to clarify what you’re saying that’s okay. (So we did).

More than once when I’ve had someone making fun of someone else’s attempt to communicate and said, “Just remember, her English is better than your Portuguese.”

My big flaw on it is my tendency when l hear an accent constantly to respond to the person over time in the same type accent. In my case it’s NOT mocking but obviously THEY will (and should) take it that way. So I often find myself pausing before speaking because more than once the accent comes out.

On the other hand, lived 5 years total in the UK and Germany and studied the latter while singing in my music studies in Italian and French and studying Koine Greek in depth enough to write my thesis and Hebrew (yikes!). Now, I don’t pause myself as any sort of expert in any of those, but I pick up a lot of nuances and can recognize names when we have to call patients back, so many times they will walk in and I am the only person who has gotten their name right in 20 years in a hospital.

Declare victory and get out but in this case wreck the American economy.

One side story I have read regarding the 1000 mile round trip from Guadacanal to intercept the Bettye over Bougainville is that Charles Lindberg began working with P-38 pilots to extend their range by leaning their mixture during long flights.

The Japanese certainly should have realized their code was broken when three American Carriers showed up at Midway.

I keep thinking he’s caught the scent of a freshly baked pie and is about to start floating towards it like a looney tunes character.

He looks like the letter ‘p’…. If he does a 180 he’ll be a letter ‘q’

It would really be tough to be in this guy's administration.

I've told more than one of this bootlicker online defenders, "Don't worry, you'll be back in 8 hours posting the exact opposite opinion as soon as he tells you. And at no time will you stop to ask any questions."

Not only would not a single one of those civilians have been killed by an atomic bomb had Pearl Harbor not happened in the first place, but the alternative was twice that many dead Allied soldiers.

Throw in the fact that we kept dropping leaflets in their cities telling them they were in danger of being bombed and giving them plenty of time to leave the cities, throw in the fact we chose prime military targets to decimate, that we got Britain and Canada to sign off on it (yes, we informed allies), and then that we warned them two weeks earlier to face “utter destruction,” I just don’t see how we can compare the atomic bombs with the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor.

One was an act of war that caused the other as an act to end the war caused by the first act of war (as far as American entry into it).

Having said that, there was a time not long ago when I could expect better of my presidents. Reagan told a joke about the USSR at one of the summits with Gorbachev (DC in 1987, l think) in response to Gorby’s description of the changes occurring in the Soviet Union under his leadership. Colin Powell and George Schultz told him after the meeting to knock it off.

And yes - Reagan listened, read up on prep for the next day, and steadfastly refused to tell any jokes the rest of the summit in deference to his guest.

This clown is genetically incapable of learning a damn thing. Combine it with his “cranky old guy who thinks the past was great” mentality and, well, some of us cannot wait for 2029.
I believe it is factual to say that the fire bombing of Tokyo prior to dropping the bomb on Heroshima killed significantely more civilians.

Nagasaki of course was a secondary target and was very near not happening at all due to clould cover and low fuel. I am not sure of it's military value. I completely support the bombing versus losing thousands of men if invasion was required. It was total war in Germany and Japan. Difficult to reconcile today until the time that an idiot uses a hydrogen bomb.
