Maybe I was thinking of Fanning, Crowell, and Clear.
Might have been because as far as I know he has not cancelled the trip to AU although I wish he would. My guess is that Luginbill is trying to create some buzz for NSD and go with an "out there" surprise pick. Nothing like getting us all even more ramped up before NSD. He probably was so fired up because he knew our forums and AU's forums were about to explode just because of his comments. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but like his brother last year isn't he supposed to announce the day BEFORE NSD?

Andrew Bone just tweeted that Cyrus will announce NSD at 8:05 a.m.

Has Cyrus done anything differently than what Arie did last year?

They both enjoyed the recruiting process down to the very end took all their visits and learned as much as they possibly could about all of the school they were interested in and in the end they will both have done the same thing. Cyrus will pick Bama... just like his brother did last year...

Glad it's early. At least it won't be a late announcement (like a night game) where we're just sitting around waiting all day. I remember Trent Richardson announcing around 5:30 p.m. or so. 'Bout killed me waiting on the suspense.

I hope what Tom Luginbill said today is wrong, but I wouldn't just dismiss him out of hand. He's usually right more than he is wrong, and he correctly predicted two yrs ago that Trent Richardson was going to end up being the best rb in that class when nearly everyone else was going with Bryce Brown.

the way cyrus has been talking i'm not sure how luginbill can say anyone leads really. I just think he picked the upset, so if it happens he looks genius. He's been calling him a bama lean until now, so that just my guess.

i figure he probably ends up at bama, unless auburn pulls out all the extra bags of cash they have laying around on the last weekend. I do hate that toothless u gets the last visit.

IDK RPC, I don't see Cyrus as someone who will risk his reputation for bags of money. I've always believe that Cyrus favored Bama and that on his OV the schools he visited had to measure up to what Bama is doing as a program. Personally, I think he is going to Auburn to measure that school with Bama as a program. He will get confirmation what he already knew (and what we have long suspected and knew about) and that is Auburn doesn't measure up to Alabama. I honestly believe Auburn has no shot at Cyrus and that CK will be wearing Crimson gear on NSD.

I like the sound of this video. I like our chances and I did not hear him say much about Auburn. He also said he likes the idea of him playing with his brother and playing time is up to him. Tom needs to tell me where in that video from today he hears Auburn as the choice.

Yeah that video should settle the nerves down about Cyrus..And Andrew Bone tweeted earlier today.."Fans make sure you are up for this one...Cyrus Kouandjio will announce Wednesday (National Signing Day) at 8:05 a.m. (CST)"..I may reading too much into that tweet..To me Bone sure sounded confidant..I have a great feeling now that Cyrus is all Bama..Gotta love the recruiting Game..

I think he just means that it is way early, I imagine Bone is as in the dark as eveyone but cyrus and his family.

That doesn't worry me, If Lee Ziemba is the best they can do for tackle development I don't see Cyrus reaching his potential in rural south Alabama. Compare that for instance to an original two star James Carpenter who is now flatbacking everyone at Senior Bowl practice. It helps to learn technique OTHER than chop blocking.
Underrated post. Ziemba is supposed to be their stud this year, but he has done nothing to impress after 4-5 years of development at the Barn... according to the NFL guys, his technique is off. Carpenter, on the other hand, is slightly less heralded and simply tearing it up according to the same NFL guys.

This is why the Barn will ALWAYS be able to sell early playing time... because their players don't develop and they'll always need the next young stud to come in because the other guys just don't pan out... unless they were developed elsewhere (Fairly/Cam).

i imagine he would have to have some concerns about playing in what John Gruden referred to last year at the draft as a "mickey mouse" offense. he also seems to stress what he thinks about coaches, I'd feel better if Pendry had waited a few weeks to retire, but he seems to like Stoutland as well, and Pendry is yet to actually leave campus.
