The owner might have legitimate concerns about their ability to pay their mortgage if everyone cancels. I get that. No idea if it applies here.
Just a tough situation.

Pretty sure they're closing the beaches...That ought to get you out.So my sons HS plays in a baseball tournament at Gulf Shores every year during Spring Break. My family and 3 others got a room together in Orange Beach. Scheduled it back last Fall. No, we didn’t buy the room insurance since chances of a hurricane are low in March. Fast forward to this week. The fit has hit the Shan and we probably don’t need to do this trip. Tournament was cancelled. Tried to get Liquid Life to let us back out because of this virus mess and they are pretty much at “we’re just an intermediary†and “screw you, we got your money, see you at the beachâ€Â. I realize a contract was agreed to but this is extenuating circumstances and I’m not sure trip insurance includes “national emergency†or “viral outbreakâ€Â. We’re supposed to leave Sunday and are at the point of “well we spent the money we might as well go onâ€Â. I have seen where the locals are asking the beach to be shut down because people are flocking down there and bringing Lord knows what with them. What to do!!!!

That is great advice. You are not losing money by not going, that money is already gone.
If the room is paid for and they have HSIA...send your other son!!!So my sons HS plays in a baseball tournament at Gulf Shores every year during Spring Break. I would say, if you don't get a refund and someone goes, report that someone staying there has been tested positive while there (whether true or not). They can then suffer through having to pay to have the entire house, dishes, etc. sanitized. If the room is paid for and they have HSIA...send your other son!!!
We're still holding tickets to France for May, when it's obvious that it's not going to happen. I'm sure Delta will get around to offering free rebooking before then, so I'll just wait for that. They're into "shelter in place" there already. Each time you leave the house, you have to download an "attestation" and fill it out with the reason you're outside. The little village they live in has around 85 inhabitants, nearly all of whom are old and retired and have no way to download and print the form. They can do it by hand, but many didn't get the word. My SIL is German and is trilingual, so he made up a notice and posted it. IDK if anyone else can read it, since it's on his Facebook page....

Oh, I think they'd rebook now, but I just don't have an clear idea of when it would be safe to rebook for. I hope we'll know more before 5/18. We couldn't even legally visit my daughter anyway. BTW, is Dominik's sign viewable?delta was great about rebooking my seattle trip, all I had to do was ask
United, for my daughters ticket on the hand was and is being stupid
I read that they're closing beaches in Florida...We have a condo down in Destin booked for the week of Spring break 27 March through 3 April. It's just the three of us staying in our own condo so as of now we're still planning on going but starting to have second thoughts. Will revisit the status of the trip during the coming days..

Seaside (on 30-A) closed everything in town, including the beach access. I would expect others along that stretch to follow suit. Wouldn't be surprised to see it happen on a larger scale.I read that they're closing beaches in Florida...
That's our go-to...No SB this year...all good!!!Seaside (on 30-A) closed everything in town, including the beach access. I would expect others along that stretch to follow suit. Wouldn't be surprised to see it happen on a larger scale.
I forgot to add it. It's there now and thanks for the Delta information...Delta gave me a credit with no issues basically they waved everything and issued a 1 year credit to each person for each ticket. I will have to call and rebook at a future date as their systems will try and charge a booking fee that their CRM System has a note to waive when I call. That is their standard answer to everyone right now
On the Dominiks question I have no idea what you are referring to there, sorry
I notice you called. I wonder if it can be done online...I forgot to add it. It's there now and thanks for the Delta information...
