I used to think that these Auburn posters were the fringe element of the fan base but I'm starting to wonder if the "fringe" is not the majority at this point. It is absolutely amazing to me at the levels of pure delusion foaming from the mouths of some of their "insiders" and the willing followers. I know there is always bad apples in every fan base but these guys continually drum up whatever rumor best serves their needs.

I hope some of this "Gadsden" stuff really comes full circle and bites them in the butt (as some have insinuated lately) and they learn a lesson. Worry about your own program and worry about what happens on the playing field. This is football after all not the national enquirer where bat boy lands on Mars and Bill Clinton was actually an alien.

Oh to be a fly on the wall of IT's house when he and his other like-minded boogers finally realize their dreams are not going to come true, and may instead turn into their worst nightmare for their own beloved program.

The Barners are going to be sooo disappointed. They've got their little hearts set on Bama getting sanctioned for Gadsden. After all, it's their only hope of getting a leg up.

Lets just say that in the process of some numerous & extremely over-zealous attempts to set BAMA up to get investigated by the Nzaa WHICH FAILED, Awbarn has stepped in their own doo. The attention they wanted from the Nzaa in Gadsden is not what the barners intended.

I'd say more but its truly unbelievable. Just glad its turning on them.

And you know, this would just be icing on the cake if they end up getting busted for Gadsden after stirring the pot themselves. It would be almost as good as a whole decade of 36-0 beatdowns

Not to mention, they just bring down our strength of schedule now.
I know. I've been thinking about that. Just another of their "dirty tricks."

Re: Let's get something straight about "Gadsden..." (read edit to opening post)

Speaking of which, here is the relevant excerpt from my post in that thread:

Back when Shaun and Samuels returned for their senior year in 1999, we had supposedly paid them tons of money and given them cars. The following year there was supposedly a massive racial war between players because of the Zow / Watts QB race. After the 2001 Iron Bowl, the SEC was supposedly conducting a thorough investigation into Alabama paying off referees, which supposedly explained all of the no-calls on holding penalties that allowed us to butcher their run defense. After the NCAA sanctions were announced, supposedly the NCAA was going to re-open the case and give us the death penalty. After Shula was hired and recruiting rebounded slightly -- we edged out Auburn slightly in the recruiting rankings in 2004 -- we had apparently restarted the pay-for-play scheme. That same summer Brodie was apparently either killed or seriously injured in a hunting accident in South America. The following summer Chris Keys had left 'Bama and was "talking" to the NCAA, and Juwan Simpson was just one of many Alabama players selling guns and illegal firearms. Then Saban arrived and he supposedly hated it, and was already looking to leave. That first off-season he was supposedly going to take both the LSU and West Virginia jobs, depending on when the rumors broke. Last summer we were supposedly going to have to revoke a ton of scholarships to make the 2008 recruiting class fit, and when Johns was busted again a ton of team members were supposedly selling drugs. Then when the textbook deal broke, we were supposedly getting major sanctions for that. Once that was abandoned, we were buying Dodge Chargers for the Gadsden recruits. And hell, this is just all I can remember off the top of my head in one sitting, there's no telling what all I've forgotten over the years.
LOL ! You remembered a lot . The only other "reason for being" I recall from this time frame for the barners would be the endess Travis Carroll rumors . Of course there was all of the Justin Smiley talk too but obviously Spurrier was the leader of that parade .

Trevis Carrol's choice car Rich Johannigmier reported to the NCAA was in fact an old beat up Jeep Cherokee complete with rust and drunk bumps. He did not get the car for free or get some sweetheart deal he signed onto a high interest note something like 14-17% because he had no credit and no one paid the down payment. These kind of loans are made everyday by auto dealers. The car did not have only 76,000 miles on the odometer it had something like 170,000 miles on it. Travis Carroll either made 1 or 0 payments and the car was repoed in Florida where he had a newer car or motorcycle after transferring to Florida. The car dealer had to track Travis down to get that piece of junk back.

I don't think it ran for very long either . Seems like the Jeep left him stranded on the side of the road somewhere ./?

sadly, my auburn friends truly believe we are going down and it really angers me when they spout off about it. its all they can talk about.

the extreme jealousy and vitriol has reached epic proportions. they know the no-longer-dormant crimson tide volcano is about to wipe out the lovieliest village in west georgia.

i honestly never wish NCAA trouble on a program, i like to win at even strength. but i wish them no success and will be ecstatic. they deserve it, because the way they are acting could very well destroy the league.

LOL, and poor old Johnson, who didn't do a damn thing wrong got disassociated for it. He called it the buyer's "fog a mirror" test. I thought his story of the repo was a classic. First, Travis' common law wife comes running out of the trailer and then Travis follows in his underwear, yelling and threatening, but Johnson's repo men were going to get their vehicle, even if it were a junk heap... :D

Larry the Cable Guy would have had a field day with that as a comedy skit. ;)

Would that be a writ of fieri fracus in legaleze Earle?

Well, I was subjected to several years of Latin, so I can translate to, roughly, "to have been made to break in pieces." But, if that's a writ, it's been fractured into lawyer Latin... :D

TIDE-HSV, what are the chances that something will come out on Auburn? I'm talking about some hard facts, that something was going in Gadsden concerning Auburn.

Auburn shouldve taken care of their own while they were trying to take care of everyone else. Willis was an absolutely brilliant hire.
