I don't know. You guys disagreed on the whackiness of this recruiting season, and it turned out to be very true. I'd say since you agree, it's not true. :biggrin2:;)
So,.......you are saying you agree with me on the whackiness this year.;) Just kidding RedStar:)

On Bone's Twitter:

AndrewJBone Andrew Bone
@kristenkenney has been told by the family she will be the first to know when Cyrus makes his decision. Stay with Scout.com on this one!

Apparently he's going to call the coaches and not make a huge announcement except through kristen
Will this still come tomorrow?

The next poster who attacks another gets a vacation.

This thread is about CK.

Two questions, is it an all expense paid vacation and do theyget to pick where they take the vacation?
J/K. Thanks, seems like you had addressed this once before.

I agree with the family's decision on this one. Keep it quiet, call the coaches and let them know personally what decision was made, and avoid the media circus that will ensue if there's a second presser.

Just let us all know when it's done.

Cyrus, we would love to have you at Bama, but make the best choice for you and for your family.

Is any of this news coming from "Auburn Sports" networks? It is interesting to me that everything seems to come through TideSports. Dad doesn't seem to be talking to the Barn media. I like that. However, I hope CK's dad is present when he talks to the HS coach.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

Does anyone know if his parents went with him on his official to Iowa?

It seems the more influence the family has over the decision, the better, since they obviously felt great about Bama and know it very well through Arie's recruitment.

I still just get the sense, though, that Cyrus wants to do something different from his brother, and he's trying to find a way to do that and still feel comfortable about it.

I find that odd as well, even barn boards are linking Bama sources

What a novel idea! A coach being on the take to steer a player to a certain school! ;)

His coach was the one pointing out to him that he wouldn't be competing with his brother on the line at Bama b/c Arie appears to soon outgrow OT and is more likely to be Bama's next great center or guard than tackle.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

I really want to know what Auburn's doing down there. I've been to Auburn's campus several times. Bama has a better campus, better parties, more stuff to do, better facilities, and the girls in Tuscaloosa puts the girls at Auburn to shame...I really want to know what, besides early playing time, which the only factor I could see in this, influenced CK to pick Auburn yesterday. I just want to know what sweet nothing Trooper Taylor whispered in Cyrus' ear that make him go "this is the place."

Yeah, Gene is laughable.
You got the first part right.

Also, Auburn fans, take note. There is a huge difference between murpjf88 & kimipela. Act like kimipela and you might get to stick around. Act like murpfj88 & there's a good chance you're gone. I bet I see a "BANNED" next to the murpjf88's name in a few minutes.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

I don't believe Auburn ever resorted to such low level recruiting tactics as to sign a player's two-star big brother to a scholarship in hopes of luring his five-star younger brother a year later.
If you're insinuating that's what 'Bama did with Arie, guess again - Arie was a 4* recruit last year.

You'll have to do more research / better than this if you wish to hang around...

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

I am absolutely not going to get into a tit for tat conversation here, especially not about Cam. I also want to follow the rules of this board and state my opinions, followed by what I do know - Do I know if we paid him? NO. Do I think we could have paid him? YES. Do I think it is right? That is an entirely different conversation. As the rules stand now, no it is not. Nothing has been proven yet, therefore, I am sticking by my school - much the same as you would stick by yours.

That said, I am not going to buy into the philosophy that every single good decent recruit that comes to Auburn for the next 50 years was paid. There are actual people who want to sign with us as amazing as that may seem. :)

Like I stated before though - I think Cyrus comes to Bama. No need for press conference if decision was the same. Plus, word around the school is not good. Only time will tell though. He seems like a good, decent kid who is being ripped in half. I am sure he will succeed at either school.

Another impressive response, newbie.

When we were kids, we often thought that the only way we lost was because somebody cheated. Fortunately, most of us no longer handle disappointment in that fashion. Recruiting, however, is the ultimate regression. Recruiting between Alabama and Auburn borders on devolution.

One bit of information from an Auburn friend with good contacts. He said Cyrus' announcement stunned the AU coaches, that they didn't see it coming, that Cyrus had a good time on his visit, but that he left them believing he was going to Alabama. In fact, this friend sent me a note a few minutes before the announcement, congratulating me on getting Cyrus.

Take it for what it's worth.
