Re: Chitty Verbal Commits to Auburn

All joking aside, this is one of the all-time great names.

What does Tubbs do to celebrate a big victory over Tennessee? He goes out and gets Chitty.

WR Markeith Ambles says that Alabama is his early favorite after visiting Tuscaloosa for the Kentucky game. He came away very impressed with everything at Bama and he liked what he saw with Bama's offense and the play of Julio.

Wow what a coup it would be to get this guy. This is not a Michael Bowman situation, UGA will fight for this guy tooth and nail.

QB Terrance Broadway has put us at the top of his leaderboard after returning home from the Kentucky game. Great news!!

LSU has yet to put up much of a fight and he says he's a Southern University fan and has never really even followed LSU anyway. Also has an offer from Nebraska at this point. Great athlete!!

Wow. That was a great recruiting weekend. It would be unbelievable to get Broadway. Could you imagine getting Broadway out of LA and Ambles out of Georgia? If that doesn't soldify us as a national recruiting powerhouse nothing will. RTR.:BigA:

Is Broadway being recruited as a QB or an ATH? I ask because he doesn't fit the mold of the big QB Saban typically had at LSU. Although neither does Star or AJ, necessarily, but they are at least 6'3".

I wondered the same thing when I saw his film. All indications are that he's being recruited as a QB...but his raw athletic ability that shows up on his film makes you wonder whether CNS is recruiting him as an ATH. He's got a bit of an odd throwing motion...but still has a very strong arm...and he's definitely blessed with all kinds of ability and can really make things happen with his feet. He looks like he would make an ideal SS on defense.

Alabama offers Westside-Macon WR; UGA expresses interest
Westside-Macon junior wide receiver Ronald Carswell received an offer from Alabama, coach Robert Davis said.

“Georgia has requested film on him as well,” Davis said. “He is a great athlete with great speed.”

Carswell, 5-foot-10, 180 pounds, also returns punts and kickoffs for the Seminoles. He runs a 4.5-second 40-yard dash.

Can anyone confirm that WR Jeremy Richardson has been a life long AU fan?
Yes, in an interview he said that he was an Auburn fan growing up but that won't matter at all now when he makes his decision. Richardson visited Bama for the Kentucky game and he absoluted loved the visit. He said everything at Alabama was first rate. Alabama was the first team to offer him a scholarship just recently. He now has offers from Bama and LSU. He is unofficially visiting Alabama again this weekend for the Ole Miss game which will be his second visit in as many games. To me that says a whole lot about his strong interest in Bama. In a recent interview he said 'I like Alabama, LSU, Auburn, and Florida the most.'

The article I read painted a different picture, it also stated he had an offer from AU. But then again, it's not the first time the B'ham News has screwed up.

Thanks for the clarification, I don't know what I'd do without Tidefans.

Following recruiting is a getting to be a little like following politics. It seems that a lot of the prospects tell the writers from the different team sites what they want to hear in a lot of cases. Quite often you get completely different or contrasting quotes about a prospect from two different sites at about the same time. Things change in a hurry in recruiting. It is not just a day to day thing, but sometimes hour to hour depending upon who is quoted and who is writing the stories. The real problem with accuracy of recruiting info is that the college coaches doing the recruiting can not publically comment directly on a prospect until after NSD.

I personally like to read or get as much info as I can about a prospect from all the different sites, newspapers, magazines, radio, tv, etc. Then I make an informed opinion. I also like to pay particular attention to what the prospect says that the Bama coaches told him and what his HS coach has to say about his recruitment. I also pay close attention to what the prospect actually does as far as visits go. For instance the fact that Jeremy Richardson is unofficially visiting Bama for back to back games says a lot about how interested he is in Bama.

Here is the Birmingham News article. I do not doubt that he now has a barn offer but Rivals is not reporting it.

Springville High receiver has offers from UA, AU
Richardson has standing offers from Auburn and Alabama - never mind that he won't be eligible for college until the 2010 season - after having a breakout year.

In just a three-game period, Richardson had 16 catches for 481 yards and five touchdowns. That's an average of 30.1 yards a catch.

"We run the spread," said Springville coach Keith Maple. "That may be a factor for him (in deciding on a college)."

Richardson's in no hurry. He said Monday that he wouldn't commit at least until he starts his senior season.

Wide receiver Richardson honors mother, grandmother
When Springville wide receiver Jeremy Richardson points to the sky after scoring a touchdown, he is not doing it to massage his ego or show up members of the other team.

He is doing it as a simple tribute to his mother, who died in 2005, and his grandmother, who died in September 2007.

"I've only seen him do that a couple of times, but that's when I know he's thinking about her, along with his grandmother," Springville coach Keith Maple said. "The kid's had more death in his life than I have, and I'm 38 years old."
