He’s projected third round I believe. He would not be a first round pick if he came out now.

I agree, it looks like these guys are wanting what they may get in a first round grade (money)Looks like Carson Beck is holding Georgia football hostage. He wants $4mil or he will transfer to the NFL. If I were Kirby, that wouldn’t be a hard decision… Bye Felicia.
This is where I quit being a CFB fan. 2023 may be my last year.
Beck is a good, not great QB. I mean what has he accomplished as a starter, he hasn't won the NC, or even the SEC
This is kind of me. But it absolutely sucks. You used to get to "know" players over a four year or so period of time. Certainly compared to now and the future, rosters were stable. Players coming and going used to be the province of professional sports. No longer.
Beck’s NIL compensation package more than likely needs to be at least the same amount (or more than) he’d earn for an annual salary in his 1st year in the NFL  not the the entirety of the rookie contract he signs.
In other words, last year’s No. 10 overall pick (Bears OT Darnell Wright) signed a deal worth $20.9 million  with a 1st-year salary cap number of $3.8 million.
AMF adios my friend. 4 million a year what does a 19 or 20 year old do with that amount of money? My days of watching college football maybe coming to a close.
No kidding. Are we seeing a lot of advertising with multiple different players faces endorsements? I'm not other than the ones who win Heismans. You're right, they are getting paid to play.Exactly what does NIL actually mean? I mean, how does Name, Image, Likeness equate to what he would get his first year in the NFL?
NIL is just a meaningless monicker. They should just go ahead and drop the pretense and call it what it really is.![]()
to me NIL should be if you get money, you need to be doing radio or tv ads promoting a business. As of right now its just pay the athletes. If we are using their NIL, then they need to do something for that money they are given. To me it's ridiculous with the money floating around when these kids are already treated like kings. rtr

Watching paint dry.I just roll with the punches. What are you going to replace it with? Don't like it but there is nothing else better. I swore off pro ball for a while because of the kneeling protest. Eventually, I caved in from boredom.
Would CNS say anything different? He and his father both said that he would have to compete for the job. They wanted to be assured that he would be the starter next year. Day just told them the truth.
Admittedly, I haven't seen Carson Beck play much. A few highlights, parts of a few games, and the SECCG. He seems a good quarterback. But not 1st round NFL great. I see him as another Matt Leinart.Looks like Carson Beck is holding Georgia football hostage. He wants $4mil or he will transfer to the NFL. If I were Kirby, that wouldn’t be a hard decision… Bye Felicia.

Other same sporadic following of the Saints ( lived and worked in New Orleans, married a Louisiana girl ), the only time I`ve REALLY pulled for a pro team was the 60`s Packers with Coach Lombardi. The NFL wasn't that bad in the late 60s to early 70s. Players for the most part stayed with the same team. Bart Starr played for the Packers his entire career, Bob Griese (Dolphins), etc...
When that changed, I switched and became a CFB fan.![]()
He’s got more leverage before they go barreling into the portal. Plus if they lose Raiola and the backup already left, he sort of has them in a bind.I'm sorry, but IF this is true about Beck, Kirby should tell him to go into the draft or transfer, but he's no longer a member of the GA team if he's going to try to blackmail the entire university for his services.
Tell him he's off the team.

At some point this becomes an unsustainable model. College athletics will be forced to move from a scholarship/student athlete model to players becoming employees of the university with employment contracts. At least that is how I see it.
This is only going to get messier.
